I bought the digital deluxe edition of STO while it was in beta. By two weeks in I was sick of it for a variety of reasons, mostly that the only changes on the way for the foreseeable future were sticking everything they could possible think of into the c-store. I felt the game as it was was worth about $20 tops, and was going to take so long to get to a state worth playing, if it ever would, that I was going to cut my losses and unsubscribe, maybe coming back down the track to see if it had improved.
When I cancelled my subscription there was a section asking why I had decided to unsubscribe.
I wrote pretty much the above.
Now they won't let me resub.
$80 for 30 days of unfinished broken crap.

Of course, to play a decent MMO I would also have to get around to buying a copy of Windows and dual booting my Mac. Which would require both money and effort.

every attempt at resubscribing has been met by some shit about it being denied because of my account status.
I wouldn't mind these things except my father keeps giving me money and treating it as a record of employment and I can't convince him not to because I'm trying to finish a fucking Ph. D.
He also doesn't realize that his software is an utter deadend (written in Microsoft Access. So no source code management, cross-platform possibility, basically would have to be made from scratch), and any time I personally spend on it is effectively completely wasted from almost every perspective. I mean he's got maybe 10 more years in his field - it isn't even profitable from an incentive perspective.
Yeah I have never considered the monthly fee a big deal, because when I'm playing an MMO that is pretty much all I am playing game-wise
So after the initial purchase it costs about as much as buying one brand new game every four months
That's a pretty good deal to me

now if the game is bad, then obviously that is a problem. If Ryadic spent $50 on Conan and didn't get any fun from it, that is something to be pissed about.
but people who are like "I played this game and had fun for only three months. this game is bullshit" just mystify me.

But you can go light/dark with either faction from what I can tell. Not sure exactly how that works but yeah. Basically you choose your initial faction but still get to do the Bioware decisions.
I go jogging on paths in the woods and I would feel much more comfortable carrying. My ideal solution would be to have my dog carry the gun in her back pack. Is this legal in PA with a CC permit ??
