but why is PbP inherently terrible apart from being slow as fuck, or is that it?
that's basically it
it's slow as fuck, and people very easily lose interest in what's happening
and then you have an awkward situation where it's like, someone's turn in combat or they should really be saying something to this NPC and they forgot to check the thread for a while or they just haven't been on the forums lately

in that case, you just get people who are hyper, like me
Since January I've lost 12.5 pounds! Nearly a stone off.
I still have 11.5 pounds before I hit my first major target, and 61.5 before I hit my second.
Well done, sir! What's your method? Leeches and diet cabbage?
Weightwatchers Propoints. Calculated from a combination of fat, protein, carbs and fibre.
The first week I put on 2 pounds. Then I realised I had screwed up portion size calculations, and was consuming almost double the points I thought I was. I adjusted appropriately, and have consistently lost ever since.
This is also supplemented with brisk walking along the scenic route to and from my work. I don't think my knees could cope with jogging properly just yet. I was saving truly rigorous exercise for even I get under 280 or so. I'm currently at 311.5.

I'm playing a Chaos in the Old World pbp and you can feel that it's different. it's my second one.
actually it's a lot like playing with stoned people which I do often. you can see that there are plans but during any given move the person may or may not actually remember what that plan is.
PbP fucking kills player interaction, which is an integral part of tabletop rpgs. It's like stepping into a booth to do your turn, then leaving so that the next player can do their thing.
Pyro verse new players is easy mode Pony. Verse people who know what they are doing getting kills as a pyro can be a pain the ass. Especially verse good demos. Eyelander made that even harder.
But I am off to bed.

So that was the first time there was ever a shopping montage in a PnP game I was playing.

Nocturne you should play lol with us but don't spend money on it
just play the ten free chars each week
buy a few here and there if u like them, with the fake money you get for playing a lot
it is p rare that a free week has 10 lame people in it

On the other hand, roleplaying feels a lot sillier when you're saying it. And OOC threads seem to be good for player interaction.

It's not silly unless you make it silly.
I usually go "My character tries diplomacy. 'I'm part of the Administratum, may I see those documents? My boss needs them and I'm in a hurry'"
I don't go BY THE THRONE I NEED THOSE DOCUMENTS

My favourite moment playing DnD is and will remain me losing my shit and Choco being all "well damn, you roleplayed that well enough, I guess it is happening" and then my mom came out and was all "what was that? o__O"

I actually like PbP Chaos in the Old World. It gives me more time to plot and think, without the other three players going "For fuck's sake, VH, make a goddamn move."

They are terrible in MNC.
God awful.

I saw your posts in the thread and I'm 100% with you there.
My only other complaint is they need to nerf the damage of Assassin's front-grapple
Good Assassins never even need to get a backstab. They just lunge + facestab and kill everything and there's almost dick-all you can do about it.
what why
they're like the most bland and inoffensive class ever
if a person isn't good at playing a Scout they're fucking terrible and die frequently
whereas Pyro or Heavy are easy mode
Nonsense.
I love Assassin. They're balanced.
in that case, you just get people who are hyper, like me
This is true as well!
Also Space Lion and Waltz for Zizi
And all the rest of them

Goddammit, Gim.
Unless they've mastered Sandman and stunlock their victims into oblivion. I could understand the frustration behind that.
that makes it hard for them to hide
Crecy by Warren Ellis is $7 and good if you like lots of swearing.
and Donner's still nervous

Hmmmm maybe
A Single Man
MST3K Final Sacrifice. Or Laserblast.
It is basically Dynasty Warriors: The Movie
Or my preferred title
Lord of the Rings: Directed by John Woo.
But but
My favourite moment playing DnD is and will remain me losing my shit and Choco being all "well damn, you roleplayed that well enough, I guess it is happening" and then my mom came out and was all "what was that? o__O"
maybe it has something to do with the four other people involved
