Not only that but they had the underlying tones of the theme building throughout the movie. Very noticeably at several points it starts like it's about to kick right into the main Bond theme then doesn't, or you get a tease of it.
It was a well done gradual build up to the full theme in the way the whole film was about Bond becoming Bond.

After looking through the laserdisc collection of all the movies until GoldenEye, I wanted to ask...
...Thunderball or Never Say Never Again?

All Daniel Craigs reading this: take off your shirt and meet me outside in three minutes
wait, what do you need those 3 minutes for
I am merely allowing all available Daniel Craigs a few minutes to freshen up, as a courtesy. I am nothing if not a gracious hostess
And the Bond theme was done very well through both of the newer movies! The hints of the theme are there throughout Casino Royale, and the variations they play in QoS strike a good balance between "barely there" and "da duhn DA DAAAAAAAAAAAA"
But take my opinions on things lightly, I am physically incapable of disliking movies I see in the theatres.
Which means I like Quantum of Solace only slightly less than Casino Royale.

Craig is not the best Bond but he could be. He's certainly in two movies (one of which was pretty terrible) done a great job with the character. More rugged, more pragmatic, a grittier Bond for a new era.

Casino Royale is probably my favorite Bond movie. It has some issues, but it's one of the few that really works as legitimate film.
Yup.

Casino Royale does so many goddamn things right for an action movie that most ever other one misses.

I knew I was going to love the movie by the time it got to the line "I've seen diamonds cut through harder men..."
I never thought a movie could inspire such terror with just a broken chair and length of rope, though. At least the ladies got some naked Bond out of that scene.

I like how in Casino Royale Bond managed to be quippy without making me groan at the puns.
Really, Pierce suffered from terrible fucking writing/directing more than anything

worst bond? i vote roger moore. he just seemed so ill-suited for the role, even moreso than lazenby. though his pastiche of himself in cannonball run is pretty awesome.

And taking the decision to change the baccarat game to poker made perfect sense
Seeing as baccarat has fuck-all to do with Bond's "skill as a gambler"
yesssss
Especially Texas Hold-Um as opposed to five card stud.
