One thing I can't figure out, is how to set servers as my Favourites. I see how to search by favourites, and how to direct connect to servers, but no field to enter a server address as a favourite.

I really wanted to make it to level 15 tonight, but it just wasn't happening. I need those trashed skinny jeans!
I wish you could change characters between maps. I don't think you should be able to "respec" between maps, because that would interfere with the RPG "this is your character" thing the devs aimed for, but you should be able to call in a different character between maps.
I also don't think you should be able to change characters or body types in the middle of match. That would hamper the rpg elements I enjoy.
I think I stumbled on a bug. I had my medium body type weapon load out, changed to light body, but didn't think to change my default weapons. In-game, I still had them, despite the fact that I'm pretty sure I shouldn't be able to use one of them as a light body type.
I didn't realize until I went to the weapon loadout afterwards.
This does remind me of my earlier problem with some of the weapons being outright superior to others - it occurs to me that the better versions of the weapons possibly aren't available to Light bodies, which clears that right up.

I use the Barnett rifle for my secondary pretty much all the time. Its really powerful and available to every body type.

I was having a problem on a server where I would literally fire straight into someone, point blank, and it would say I didn't hit them, and yet this guy on the other side got headshots with it almost every single time he pulled the trigger.
Oooookay.

Is the Barnett the one with bolt action only 4 bullets per clip? If so, I think I like that gun, despite its slowness.
I played as a light for tw hours, ending just a litttle bit ago. I think I will keep playing as a Light. Using the Barnett as a hog gun is tricky, but it can work out. I had some success with that-- speed sling and red dot sight on it. I don't have anything on the muzzle. It is good to take the Belgo with extended mag as the other gun. I use the Barnett for long sight lines or to take out defenders and heavies, and use the Belgo as my back up.
I gave up on the first sec mission. I played the second one-- on terminal-- for about an hour and a half, and finally managed to win it. I buddied with a guy, I think it was Sullivan85, and friended him and talked him to buffing me if I would buff him... (hahaha)
We managed to win! And I did the winning! I looked at my clock, saw that I had time for one more game, and then we pulled it off somehow. I did all of the objectives and Sullivan85 buffed me. This character is set-up for Soldier and Engineer, so I got to self-buff my rifle a lot(dear lord). I was having a really hard time using that computer at the end, but I eventually slowed down and slithered around, being careful not to shoot at anyone. When the spawn wave left, I sneaked up to the train, hiding behind the schedule boards, dropped a turret and uploaded. Success! Feels good man!
I'm still waiting on my drink can silencer, Amazon! They emailed me, and explained they couldn't issue the pre-order items because of the Great PSN Outage of 2011. Come on! (I emailed them.)

anyone being stingy about buffing is just being a dick
Game finally arrived. Gonna play through the challenges and story tonight, and if the 360 is working well online then I'll probably be up for some games later.

Welp, I won't be able to play for a bit, because somehow my brand new comp got cocked up since I set it to shut down four hours ago. I am kind of ticked off.

If I were you, I would watch that movie, or start it and then skip it if you followed the game pre-release. You ge tthe XP as logn as you start it. And then do the challenges before you play the game. They should be called tutorials, because they teach you how to play.

I was doing the second What If? mission for security, had them held back for the entire timer. As an engineer, I was manning the MG nest above the health CP, and had all routes turreted or mined and checked them constantly. I had eyes on the warehouse door from the MG nest, with no enemy in site, when the countdown starting doing the whole "Objective complete in 5, 4, 3, etc"
Then the game spawned a charge on the door and said "TIME ADDED" and put the entire enemy team behind me.
This is how you don't use scripted events. My first gripe about the game.
Man that escort mission where the Resistance have to steal the Nav Computer then transfer it through a mall or something, and then at the end there you need to hack some gate controls?
That is painfully difficult to win.
I still have no idea what happens after that because as both offense and defense I've never had anyone hack the controls. That is probably the most unbalanced map in the game.
The defensive spawn is just so close to the hack point, you either need to be collectively retarded or facing an incredibly organized team to let them hack it.

I propose that winning the reactor level on the resistance side in solo play is impossible.
can somebody spoil the whole plot of this game for me, please
Brink is set on the Ark, a floating experimental green energy city. It was a fancy resort to win investors over or something. It was meant to support 5000 people. And then bad stuff happened, the oceans rose blah blah, and refugees found the Ark. The ark lost contact with the rest of the world. The refugees became the lower class, working at dirty jobs, maintenance, fish farms, etc. That goes on for a while, and things start to wear out and they still can't contact anyone. Occasional exploration parties leave and never return. Worse and worse strains of the flu start to spread.
A guy named Chen rallies some of the lower class and starts making demands and stuff and is ignored. So he gets a little louder and kidnaps a Founder... Security wishes to squash the rebellion and keep everyone on-board, because its leader fears the Ark is the last piece of civilization left.
The two factions are told different things and I don't think the ending clarifies who is "the good guys."
t: pipe-- I played single player for a week. It isn't as much fun as multi, but it is fun enough.
oh cool then I'll just throw this game in the trash then shall I?
Maybe the garbage disposal?
wipe my ass with it?
or I could just play single player a little jeez it's fine
Ssssh, just saying that it's not my cup of tea, I personally don't think there's a strong enough game there to enjoy it alone, but that's just me.
You have it on 360, right? Are the issues still bad enough to avoid multiplayer entirely post-patch?
the patch hasn't made its way to me yet for some reason, but I haven't played it in a couple of days
previously whenever I'd try to join a public session it was unplayable, but I'd be able to host a game and support 3 or 4 other players without much trouble, only a little skip every 2 or 3 minutes
Also I'll often just start a level set to public and nobody would ever join so what else am I supposed to do?
I would argue the ending pretty clearly establishes who the "good guys" are, especially the what-if missions.
The what-if missions on both sides establish the Resistance as misguided, if not the bad guys. Plus, given the information available, the Security were doing the right thing; every report they've had of the outside world would indicate that it is filled with people they don't want overrunning the Ark. They've got enough people as it is.
However, the ENDING ending features the ambiguous yacht, which could indicate everything is A-OK outside?
This game doesn't have goddamn single player it has multiplayer with bots these are not the same things
it's part of the reason why I couldn't ever justify telling someone to pay $60 for the 360 version of it
especially when the lag still happens a plenty and their "solution" for the problem was to cut the amount of people you can have a match from 8 to 4
so basically if your house is ever burning down, Splash Damage is going to cut your house right down the middle and hope that the other half doesn't catch fire too

Now this is something that actually is pretty dumb and needs to get changed.
And to favorite a server on the PC, click the box in the column that has a star in it next to the server.
It doesn't really do much except make it so you can sort it to the top immediately.

but then I unlocked improved weapon buff and decided to try carb-9 with drum magazine and hoo boy
spray with reckless abandon, everything dies
excellent for sniping and has the grenade launcher attachment
my secondary is usually an MP or an SMG

With a medic I'd rather hang on to my supply for revives and people on their last sliver of health.
How long is the cooldown of Self Resurrection?

Need some stuff designed or printed? I can help with that.
Also I really like reactor. Its definitely a difficult map to win as offense, but it is super fun.
this is the funniest post i've read in a solid month
you um
you haven't heard that this game has a few lag issues?
