And for that matter, why did they bother with this awesome parkour system when the maps are barely designed at all to make good use of it so the poor heavies can get to the fight
i agree the SMART system is tad underused. i really like the 'parkour this' challenge since you really get to tear ass around and do crazy stuff there.
Okay let me lay down a concrete example of why I'm not playing Brink again
The room on the 'escort Nechayev' map where you have to hack a safe, a tiny little vault on the third floor
Thanks to glass walling, the size of the room, and the way the two entrances are arranged, a remotely competent defense of three, MAYBE four people can hole up forever
Furthermore the layout renders the star feature of the game, SMART, utterly without worth
This game could have been great, but so far the map designers have completely let me down
that's not a particularly egregious example
the grenades in brink are not particularly impressive but they do exist
now, container city, that is a map where a competent resistance team can completely wall the security team at their spawn point and turn it into a meatgrinder

2 health-buffed soldiers or a soldier and anyone with a grenade throw/shoot flashbang/molotov/grenade x 2 + kevlar/juiced heavy with a buffed MG
you have to work as a team to kill the other team and stop them from doing stuff
i can tell just from solololsony that buffs are a huge deal in this game

tattoos and scars are another item in the customization menu, but are permanent when applied and apply to both security and resistance versions of that character
