It's the time of year again. E3 is less than a month away and the internet is abuzz with endless amounts of speculation. The hype is nearly palpable. It's almost here.
So, as we wind down the last few weeks to the fabled expo of legend, what are some of your most anticipated events/games/announcements/etc? What's got you on the edge of your seat, counting down the days to the first conference? What are you most excited to see?
As for myself, I'm anxious to see what nintendo has planned for their next console and what kind of response MS and Sony might have in retaliation. Retro is rumored to have a new game to show, and there should be an impressive 3DS game blowout. The NGP is also on the horizon and details regarding its launch should incite excitement.
So what about everyone else?
For those that are curious,

But mainly ME3, really cannot wait to see more of that.
Can't believe I forgot about skyrim :^: I'm a huge fan of morrowind, but for some reason, oblivion just didn't hook me. Something about skyrim has me really interested though.
Yup.
Also, curious if Valve is showing anything new. Since Valve is great.
Why I fear the ocean.
I hope so, i'd hate to see the errors during the conferences if it's not
this, and maybe some more Arkham City info, too.

The last generation began while I was in college, so I'm most excited to find out about the next step in gaming consoles will be for the next 4-5 years as a true fan of gaming. That's why, without a doubt, the NGP and next Nintendo console are my most anticipated topics of E3 2011.

"Did ya hear the one about the mussel that wanted to purchase Valve? Seems like the bivalve had a juicy offer on the table but the company flat-out refused and decided to immediately clam up!"
Raiden, thanks for reminding me of the laser tag thing. I'd left it buried deep in the inaccessible places of my mind, and now that horrible display is playing over again. Ubisoft is such a bizarre company. I hope they don't sucker Joel McHale into headlining their presser, because that guy has a LOT of better things to be doing than this crap.
And Guek, are you gonna be maintaining the thread when E3 happens to bullet point the neat shit that comes up?
I'm hoping that Microsoft decides that an announcement should be paired with some footage and not just a splash page. "Here's Kojima. Wave to the people, Kojima. Here's the name of the game he's working on. Wave goodbye, Kojima." Stuff like that is made even worse when the titles are leaked before hand.
I'm curious as to what Nintendo will pull out of left field again. They're probably the only publisher that announces games a few months before they're released. I'm also hoping for some word on localization of Xenoblade, Last Story, and Pandora's Tower.
We'll probably finally see some PSP2 games from Sony. I'm curious to see if any will be multiplatform.
Well I would but megathreads aren't allowed and I think there'd probably be way too much information that comes out over the event. I made this thread more as a hype and anticipation thread than anything else. We'll get threads for each individual conference and for every big major announcement as well.
But here's shit I'm looking forward to, the important ones first:
Tomb Raider
Batman: Arkham City
Assassin's Creed: Revelations
Uncharted 3: Drake's Deception
Resident Evil 4/Code Veronica HD
Catherine
Max Payne 3
Twisted Metal
Ico/Shadow of the Colossus Collection
The Elder Scrolls V: Skyrim
Metal Gear Solid: Rising
Jurassic Park
Deus Ex: Human Revolution
Mass Effect 3 (maybe? I find it next to impossible to get excited about these games until they are in my hands and I'm playing them)
Silent Hill: Downpour
Rage
The Last Guardian
Any XBLA/PSN surprises would be nice, too
Grand Theft Auto V
That is a thing I'd like to see announced.
Sadly it doesn't look like Valve has a booth. Wonder if they are doing any showings behind closed doors in hotel rooms or anything. I want to know more about DoTA 2, and seriously hope they blow everyone away by somewhere announcing a Half-Life 3.
edit: And of course Nintendo. I always watch their press conferences. So looking forward to details on their next console, hope it doesn't disappoint.
I tried running the 3 major keynote threads (Sony, MS, Nintendo) last year and it was a bit of a handful. I'm not doing it again this year guys! Someone else handle it! <.<
I may be delirious in my hope for BG&E2/ME2/PoP2, but you people are downright insane.
Also, do we have an IRC channel? I wonder with the recent "server too busy" issues if the forums will be able to handle E3.
If they announce anything, it'll probably be at EA's conference. Sony and Microsoft's conferences are possibilities too I guess but I kinda doubt it.
Valve will just drop HL2: Episode 3 into everyone's steam library one morning. With no fanfare.
Why I fear the ocean.
And then retract it, twirling their mustache.
And if it does, we can spend the rest of our life worshipping Jesus, who is the Lord and also the Christ, in thanks for this miracle.

Microsoft as well. Want to see if they have a strong lineup of game announcements. Sony seems ok in that regard, they have a bunch of high profile stuff in the pipeline.
As for specifics, would really like to see XCOM. That's gone kind of quiet for a long time now so I'd love to know what's going on there. Also some battlefield 3 multiplayer footage would be great.
Mostly I just look forward to staying up all night watching press conference livestreams and sitting in IRC with PA folks poking fun at everything. Always my e3 highlight.

"Did ya hear the one about the mussel that wanted to purchase Valve? Seems like the bivalve had a juicy offer on the table but the company flat-out refused and decided to immediately clam up!"
Now, I've said this every year for the past five years. But this time it's definitely happening.
"Yuh huh, and when does it arrive? Two weeks after The End of Days?"
"We released it 35 minutes ago."
"Oooooh, that explains the costume."
Funny, I've never cared to watch Sony's press conferences even though I have a PS3. I just don't care what they have to say.
We're gonna have to put you in a straight-jacket at this rate.
Something something sign of insanity something doing same thing expecting different outcome something.
... says the guy quietly praying for a Q4 Diablo 3 release.
... yes I'll come quietly.
It's a good thing Blizzard is too good for any other convention and host their own.
Stupid summer drought.
I still think the funniest thing about the presentation was getting a black dude to show off some of the features right away, a response to the crap about it not recognizing people of darker skin. But other than that, it was like... what did you expect from the Kinect presentation?
No the best part was the Kinect Adventures guy making a Lorenzo Lamas joke at Kudo's expense. That was fantastic.
Also the clear winner for Nintendo press conference hilights.

I think that was one of the points where my feed hiccuped, I don't remember hearing the "what the fuck" there.
