As far as I know, McDuffie and Hudlin are in pretty close communication on the advancement of both books, so be sure to spread the unwarranted hate around when something you don't like happens.

Oh, and just to make sure you're directing your ire to the right place, it should be noted the Priest's run on BP established that T'Challa has a contingency plan for Galactus. How McDuffie does or does not use this with SS, I'll be interested to see.
    It's Galactus.

The contingency plan is probably "call in favors from the X-Men, Fantastic Four, Avengers, Defenders, and Thunderbolts".
    Shit, it's Reed's contingency plan.
Anyway, these jabs against Hudlin get old. It's like I'm listening to people who hate gays saying "The Bible says Adam and Eve, not Adam and Steve". Except, you know, not nearly as clever or witty or funny.

And we're not basing our hatred on the first chapter of a religious book that preaches love(well, NOW it does). We're basing our Hudlin hate on him making Dr. Doom go from someone who sees everyone as inferior to him to a racist douchebag. Oh, and making Storm go from a strong and independent character to "But T'Challaaaaa, I want that hat TODAY! Not TOMORROW!"
Hasn't she led the X-men full time for a while?

And making Black Panther from a respectable hero to some over-the-top "If you beat BP it's racism".

We need a good Luke Cage ongoing, just so we can have a black character with his own title that doesn't make everyone else look like an incompetent racist douche.
Especially how Wanda's been character raped all over the place for the last couple of years.
    Fair enough.

    Shit, it's Reed's contingency plan.

Uh, yeah, is this a summary of what the actual plan is, or are you just making that up?
And we're not basing our hatred on the first chapter of a religious book that preaches love(well, NOW it does).

I think I already pointed out that I wasn't drawing a parallel between anti-gays and anti-Hudlins, I was pointing out that your comment sounds retarded and tired.
We're basing our Hudlin hate on him making Dr. Doom go from someone who sees everyone as inferior to him to a racist douchebag.
It's been said before, and I'll have to go find the exact book and issue where it happened, but Doom has said some racist type shit about T'Challa before. Something about a noble savage or something, and it wasn't Hudlin that wrote him that way. But I guess we can retroactively blame Hudlin for that too, eh?
Oh, and making Storm go from a strong and independent character to "But T'Challaaaaa, I want that hat TODAY! Not TOMORROW!"
Hasn't she led the X-men full time for a while?

I wish I knew what book you were reading, because it isn't the one I'm reading. And what's wrong with you people, holding so hard onto this idea that, since she's been an X-Men team leader, Storm is somehow some sort of unyielding super-feminist that's unable to compromise and work with, of all people, her HUSBAND? The way you guys talk, Storm and T'Challa should be at each others throats all the time, trying to decide who wears the pants.
And making Black Panther from a respectable hero to some over-the-top "If you beat BP it's racism".

If T'Challa has a contingency plan for Galactus, what makes you think that he doesn't have some kind of plan to deal with any of the other major super powered people? If it's not hard to believe that Batman could take Superman, given prep time, why's that so hard to believe when it's BP vs. Doom or Iron Man?
We need a good Luke Cage ongoing,
Agreed. I would buy such a book.
just so we can have a black character with his own title that doesn't make everyone else look like an incompetent racist douche.

Yeah, so you haven't actually been reading the book, have you? If you have...you draw the worst conclusions in the history of man.

For those not reading Iron Man: Velocity (let's try this new spoiler thing)
The book is about an Iron Man suit that got downloads of most of Stark's personality, so it thinks like him and has some of his memories. In his memories though people keep getting replaced by eyeliner punk chick, plus a few other delusions. So the cover is just a delusional robot thinking about hot Avengers lesbo porn with punk chick.

Same reason Batman can't win. One kryptonite ring punch makes no difference when your head is bouncing around the fields.

One EMP doesn't mean shit when you get your head punched off in .03 seconds.

If Superman or Iron Man truly wanted their respective over-planners dead, there'd be little that could be done. Iron Man vs BP is less one-sided because IM isn't nearly as powerful as Supes.

I really doubt T'Challa would try to go head up with the Silver Surfer, one on one, like the cover implies(covers rearly mean shit nowadays), he's too smart for that.

I'd figure T'Challa would use his intelligence and resources to fight the surfer, which could even the field and make for a pretty cool fight.

Why would you assume it was because she was Hispanic? She was a former drug addict, after all, and even afterwards hardly a remarkable woman.

Personally, I don't think it makes sense for Doom to subscribe to any notions of racial superiority when he wasn't raised in a racist environment during his formative years and was, himself, member of a racial group (Gypsies, or Roma) who were constantly persecuted and even got it as bad as the Jews during WWII.

By the time Doom left his tribe, made it to the US, and saw his first Black person, he'd probably dismissed 100% of the world's population and therefore gone far past the point of judging people by race rather than the fact that they aren't Doom.

For him to be racist, he'd need to think white people (or at least Roma) to be his equals. Or almost anyways.

And after the badass fight of Silver Surfer vs. Cable in C&D a while back, with a fully powered up Cable, BP will never stand up. That was two guys who could molecularly disintigrate everything around them and put it back together again without even thinking about it at the time. BP's gonna have nothing but a deus ex to put him on equal footing.

In what fucking way is that not racist? You don't call someone (or a group of people) savages and mean it in a good way. Using it as a blanket statement about a group of people just because they happen to be "tribal" is racist, plain and simple. Calling T'Challa, of all people, a savage is bullshit. He and the Wakandans are anything but. And just because Doom has choice words for other people doesn't mean he isn't being racist in this case.

And there's a difference between saying that, as a Wakandan, you're not fond of Latverian architecture (that's basically what he said) and outright calling the king of Wakanda a savage. The situations aren't even remotely comparable, and if you can't or won't acknowledge that, I'm wasting time arguing this with you. You're grasping at straws to make it seem like Hudlin is way off base, when he's just working off of what previous writers did.

The thing is, to Doom, everyone is a savage. The entire rest of the world is far beneath him. White, black, hispanic, asian, whatever they are all peons in the eyes of Doom.

For him to be racist he would have to direct that opinion onto some minority, but he feels that way about everyone. So he's not racist, he's just a dick with a superority complex.

Really? So he's specifially called everyone else in the world a "noble savage"? How about just one other person than T'Challa? Rationalize it all you want, but the only times I've ever heard of a white person call another person a "noble savage", it's been directed towards a non-white person from a tribal type background. It's patronizing and it's racist because it assumes that, because of his heritage, he's some sort of anomoly. Doom may as well have complimented T'Challa on speaking coherently and behaving well since, being a savage and all, there's no reason he'd be capable of such things.

Enslaving an entire group of people is arguably worse than addressing one with condescension, and Doom has pretty much enslaved his own people by establishing himself as ruler for life of Latveria and forcing them to obey his every whim. And of course, he hopes to one day put the rest of the world's peoples in the same position.

Racism really doesn't work if you seem to treat everyone equally.

So the argument is that, since Doom thinks everyone is beneath him, he's therefore incapable of being racist. That's not only retarded as fuck, but the fact that many of you acknowledge that Doom has such an attitude also makes it a hell of a lot more plausible that he's racist than not.

What the hell does this have to do with whether Doom was being racist by calling T'Challa a "noble savage"? You're saying that, since Doom's done much worse things, him being racist isn't such a big deal. That's an awesome bit of rationalization, really. It still doesn't address the issue, the contention that Hudlin is making every white character racist, despite the fact that he's characterizing Doom in the same way he was characterized by an earlier BP writer.

Also, Bloods End, I'm right with you on the meeting between Doom and Storm and T'Challa.

The entire incident just reeks of bad characterization. The entire incident should not have happened. It's stupid and if only one thing that has been beaten into us about Doom is that he is not stupid. To so dilibertly provoke a fight after making a diplomatic outreach to Panther makes no sense at all. You can't even argue that he just used to diplomacy to trap them and kill them because

    1. He didn't have any particular beef with Wakanda at the time

    2. He didn't make it so there was no chance he could lose. If you invite two super heads of state with the intention of fighting them you make it so theres no chance you can lose. You cheat, you make the odds in your favor. That didn't happen. Beside the regular Doomstad security there were no special devices. Doom would not do that.

Lets just agree that it was bad characterization. Maybe Hudlin just isn't good with Doom. God knows there have been other such incidents, like with Bendis and 616 Carnage and other such things. Forget who's racist and not, forget what you think of Hudlins writing in general, lets just say that this incident was bad. A moment of bad characterization.

I love how, since pretty much everyone is saying that Doom is not a racist, it makes it true. Reality isn't defined by majority rule. What Doom said about T'Challa, prior to Hudlin's run, isn't in question. He said it, it's racist, and whether Doom hates other people is motherfucking irrelevant to the contention that he was being racist.

I get it, you hate Hudlin's writing and think he's race baiting or whatever. That doesn't erase the fact that Doom was being racist when referring to T'Challa in established continuity. Turning around and giving Hudlin crap for making use of this in his run is disingenuous and, quite frankly, bullshit.
