So do we have an idea about how substantial the stand-ins for teammates killed in the suicide misson will be in ME3? I'm debating leaving only Garrus and Zaeed alive on my renegade playthrough.
Ed: And then leave him for dead on his loyality mission. Can you still do missions with one squadmember?

Probably won't have any stand ins. 3/5ths of the currently revealed permanent squadmates are unkillable in ME2 (Liara, Virmire Survivor, Vega) and there are only going to be 8-10ish ermanent squadmates total this time. You may get replacements on the 'bonus missions' with temporary squadmates that are dead, but as of yet they haven't even hinted at it.
You won't be able to leave Zaeed for dead in that situation, as the game makes sure you have at least two squad members available. There won't be stand-ins because if people died, you are a bad player and should be punished.

So I just finished a ME2 run where I destroyed the base and had Miranda with me. I thought it was kind of strange how quick she was to "resign"- especially I would have thought that the leverage the illusive man has over her given that he can reveal her sister's location.
Miranda can take on the task of protecting her sister. That, and she probably doesn't think he'll sink so low as to get back at them. Sure, they blew up the base, but it's pointless to kill them or ruin their lives over it. Also, she might not be thinking about that in the heat of the moment.
Miranda can take on the task of protecting her sister.
In theory, anyone could do it.
At this point, you could probably just ask Liara to make sure nobody finds out where Miranda's sister is located and nobody would find out where Miranda's sister is located. Or make sure that only poisoned/wrong information about her location is available.
Also, at that point in the story (especially if you did her loyalty) she's seen what Shepherd will A. do for his friends/allies and B. do to his enemies, and she's probably thinking: "I pity the Illusive Man if he goes after my sister."
It seems pretty clear that if you fuck with Shepherd's people, Shepherd burns your house down.
"One time Miranda left me to baby sit her sister, goddamn Reapers came down right in the middle of the Expel 10 consert. You haven't heard bad music until you've heard a sensory band screaming as they're ripped apart by husks. I was the only one who made it out."

I really am interested to see how ME3 will treat Liara being the shadow broker, in fact this is probably one of the most important plot points for me in ME3.
I'm interested to see the order you get the squadmates back in.
Obviously the VS and Vega are on Earth but I wonder where we get Garrus and Liara.
and Tali can be exiled so I wonder how that'll work.
I would expect Garrus to stay on the ship, Tali too if she was exiled. Liara sends Shadow Broker troops to assist you on Earth then escorts you back to the base, where Shepard talks strategy through an inspiring speech.

...Hmm...would they even be allowed to stay on the ship?
It was confiscated afterall.
I guess Tali could be at the trial...and Garrus would probably be off murdering random humans or something.

Couple of things.
1. Game looks a lot nicer than ME2, I think it is just the lighting.
2. Animations are a bit janky but that is probably because it is still in development.
3. Engineer' heavy melee was pretty nice.
4. I wish they wouldn't have used so many dramatic cuts, it made some of the stuff hard to follow.
5. Altas having instant kill attack at close range is scary...I wonder if it works on Shepard...I hope so.

Oh...well...whatever then, I just wanted ME3 news anyway and I'm sure more will pop up throughout the week.

The constant cuts in that video were endlessly annoying and made it very difficult to follow what was happening. The Atlas is suitably scary from the look of things. Definitely going to be a squadmate killer (as they have the AI of a dead brick usually).
Forgive my ignorance, but is anything regarding system requirements known so far?
I could just about run ME2 at low to medium settings and I'm afraid my crappy laptop won't be able to handle ME 3.

Pretty sure they said it had the same system reqs as ME2.

Really? Fantastic, thank you.
I just thought with the PS3 version of ME2 looking a lot better and using ME3's engine, the system requirements would go up as well.

Honestly, like I said before, the reason the game looks so much better is because of the dynamic lighting and shadow effects they're putting in the game.
Did you guys see those screenshots on the Bio/ME2's Facebook page? One is a close-up on those "Cannibals" from the E3 trailer. Looks a lot like indoctrinated/genetically altered Batarians, guys.
CAN'T WAIT.
Baby, take off your beret. Everyone's a critic and most people are DJs.

Batarian/human hybrids, as I understand it.
Edit: and examining the picture, I can now see the gaping human face portruding from the side. gah.

Well, good job I asked before going ahead with it then.
You go, man. Lemme know how that goes for you.

Random guilty humans.

Also..when is EA's press conference?
According to Google? An hour ago. Supposedly it was set to start at 10am EST, not sure if that stuck though.

But, the Revenant looks more awesome than it was in ME2, if that is even possible, all the guns sound so much better.

In other news, damn you Insanity. I don't think I can ever go back to Normal.
