I just browsed the wiki article on plant sexuality. Essentially, anything we want could be game. Trees can be monosexual, unisexual, hermaphroditic, and it gets more complicated than that.
I guess since we've been eating animals that have sexual dimorphism, we could have been adapting those traits ourselves.

I think we should take the farmland south of the village.
Then we should invade the village. Those that refuse the bud will be shipped to the farm to be eaten at a later date. The others will be our slave force.
Ok, but only if we can convert them to Buddism, having some spies up high would be nice! Not like we arn't going to be attracting them as we feast on the flesh of creatures
What Happened?
The people decide to hold a great hunt for the celebration. A competition is held: the first to find delicious flesh and notify the rest of the tribe will receive grand accolades from the great Bud! 20 of the tree people’s greatest hunters rush out and search for food.

Flora crashes through the underbrush, her arms sweeping wide, her trunk on a swivel. She is searching for any sign of animal life, anything that would feed the tribe. She emerges from the forest in front of a large rock face. There’s a cave.

Flora enters the cave. Inside is a family of bears! Flora thinks quickly and wraps the bears with her thorny vines before they can act. The bears are choked to death. Flora signals the tribe using the communication breezes and they come running. The tribe rejoices! This will be more than enough to feed the tribe! Your food stores are increased to mid.
Your people take on a trait from the bear eaten at the celebration. The traits are:
-Furry moss
-Thicker bark (for cold weather, also armor)
-Frightening roar
-Massive claws

Your people discover that after eating the bear, they have gained a fearsome roar! This ability can be used before battle and will greatly intimidate the enemy, reducing success requirements by 2!
The mood of the population is high following the feast. This is the last turn the population will remain this high. Breeding while the population is happy is more effective.
