So I know there was a thread to recap your personal 2011, good or bad, but i'm a boring shut-in who didn't really have anything exciting to them this year. So I thought we could talk about the best whatevers of this past year, 2011. This has been a pretty kickbutt year in terms of movies and tv and junk, so it was hard to narrow it down. But here's a few personal bests that I got a chance to check out this year.
Best Movie: Bridesmaids, hands down. So damn perfect and while kristen wiig can be blah in SNL, she hits it out the park here. The best scene was definitely the flip out in the bridal shower. and also Jon Hamm is the perfect douchebag character

Best Tv Episode: this was tougher, so much damn good tv, so I split it up into comedy and drama
Comedy: Parks and Recreation - Smallest Park
an episode that made me both pee my pants laughing and tear up with happiness in the end. Parks and rec is basically the best sitcom airing right now, and you a busta if you don't watch
Drama: Breaking Bad - Crawl Space
that last shot, goddamn. Walt is further painted into a corner and things just keep getting worse and worse. breaking bad had an amazing season, and while i was tempted to put in the season finale of breaking bad or the season finale of boardwalk empire, this one just suck in my mind
Best Videogame: Skyrim, no doubt. I can't remember the last game that sucked me in as much as this one. Just so much good stuff and character freedom. the main story is bleh, but who cares, i didn't even touch it the first 50 hours i played

Best book: this was a tough one as well. I think for fiction, I'd have to go with The Crippled God, the 10th Malazan Book, just because I love this series and the way everything rolled together was awesome. Honorary mention to Dance with Dragons, which was awesome and made me wish he'd write just a smidge faster
For nonfiction, I'd go with Bossypants by Tina Fey. Basically made me laugh a lot and was awesomely readable.
Best comic: The Batwoman series right now. only like 4 issues out, but holy crap that art and that writing. Everyone needs to read the earlier stuff and jump on this bandwagon

Batwoman is amazing. You need to read Greg Rucka's Detective Comics run with her because this series picks up exactly where he left off, but it's super good
Wonder Woman is good, too yeah

My best video game is Skyrim.
I haven't listened to any 2011 music nor read any 2011 books, although I did read Wolf Hall and that was great.

Best action: Fast Five
I don't think I've seen any dramas this year
Best comic: Locke & Key: Keys to the Kingdom, followed by Batman: The Black Mirror
best game would be a tossup between skyrim and portal 2, i need to immerse myself fully in skyrim during my week off before i decide
best new tv show is game of thrones, finally made me subscribe to HBO and now i'm watching every episode of everything good on HBO Go
