Oh man, Village is the worse. There was one map that I knew existed in CoD that had a terribly op spawn for one team. It was Village. Fuck that map.
Do you mean Jungle (in Brutle's vids) or Village (MW3)?
Jungle isn't broken, it just has a better side.
Village is objectively broken - at least for Dom.
I meant Jungle, but Village is pretty bad.
And wasn't showdown very symmetrical? The map that was the peace with the big statue in the middle? I'll take your word that skilled players could exploit that map, but I never saw it for myself. I'm not saying its not true or doubting you, just more curious on how so?
Well, maybe one corner of the map was every so slightly better.
Fucking Marty-dom on shitment.
That is all I have to say
Nah, man. RPD with Deep Penetration. Most people run SMGs or shotties with Martyrdom on Shipment, but you can generally out-range them if your positioning's solid. Just kill yourself when you get to your air strike, so you don't get chopper-locked, and you're pretty much guaranteed to score 100+ kills on Shipment.

Symmetrical, yes. Even, no.
The tops of the two sides were very different and very easy to lock down from one side, but not from the other. I don't recall which side, although if I saw it I could tell you which side instantly. It was mostly the middle entrance to the map that was the easiest to lock down, but one of the two flanks, the one that had the wicker baskets you could hide behind, was crazy imbalanced for good teams that were trying to lock shit down.
Showdown's one of my favorite maps. But yeah, it's definitely not an "even" playing field, even though it's one of the most symmetrical stages. It doesn't even really require much teamwork; three guys can lock down the whole map, and keep the enemy trapped on the East Gate all by themselves. It's all about positioning:
One guy sits up above the Courtyard on the West side, and primarily covers the East Gate hallway. They can try and try and try until they ragequit, but nobody's getting down that goddamn hallway. This guy can also look to his right, and cover the South entrances, or pivot North when things slow down.
One guy plays up North, on the top level, and watches both the back alley on his side, and the South entrances across the Courtyard.
The last guy plays the opposite role, covering the South entrance while looking down on the enemy flag, and also shooting across the Courtyard at anybody who gets through in the North.
Basically, all three guys cover the whole map by themselves, and they're backing each other up. The guys in the North and South can cover each other, and the guy in the middle can cover either position. And that's only three of your six players.
Showdown's fucking awesome, though. I wish they'd bring it back.
Although, if you trap them on the West Gate spawn, the long sight lines on either side actually allow you to pick people off immediately as they're spawning. It's not a better "trap", but it probably scores you more kills per game on average to hold them at Charlie.
I vote interchange/dome/hardhat a lot and those are maps that I really enjoy. They are also maps where we can trap like nobody's business if we put our minds to it.

What CoD are you guys playing? 99.99% of my games involve every body just running around like a headless chicken. No rhyme or reason. Even objective games, especially Search.
This. And this, my friend, is why I'm looking forward to BlOps2's bots. It's not so much as I like playing against bots, it's that I like having bots on my team because they do what they're supposed to.

The reason why we can complain about how bad the spawns are in COD.
I'm just saying at least Halo has spawn influence.
That's not really a good argument. There isn't enough space to spawn 32 people on Shipment in any shape or form. It can barely handle 8 man FFA, let alone four times that number.

Because Infinity Ward.
Still a terrible argument.
I mean, the game doesn't actually support 32 players on that map! That is a hack! You can't use that as evidence of anything other than PC CoD players are stupid!
Yeah, the spawns in Call of Duty aren't the greatest -on this, I think there's consensus- but what you're seeing in that clip is not the game's fault. There are only a certain number of spawning positions, and they're appropriate for 12-player games, but if you've got close to three times that number, obviously, shit's going to fall apart.
Well, first they make a drinking game out of them. So they can feel all smart telling people they watched the debates when in reality they were getting hammered.
I may jump on for a bit, tonight. I need some good mass genocide with the CoDBros. Pre-ordered my copy of BlOps 2 and Halo 4 so I may have my hands full with multiplayer violence next month.

Havana?
There's was Crisis (Which I loathed)
Pretty sure Havana was the street one. I enjoyed that one.
I can't remember the name of the map with the big fountain, though... El Mansion-o?

That's probably a fair assessment, yeah.

Might take a break to go buy beer at some point.
Unless Neil deGrasse Tyson was given an hour everyday to educate the world?
If you missed out on the debate, don't worry; I can sum it up for you pretty easily:
So, same as it always is.
