    Um...what? Am I missing something? Because those responses make absolutely no sense to me? And was I imagining things, or was I briefly infracted for that completely innocuous and polite request?

    You're looking for the a.PhotoWrap::after selector.

    @Barrakketh What are your feelings on this version of the Winter style, using :after instead of additional elements with their own styles? Any preference?

    I'm completely relaxed, but was also very confused. I just didn't get the joke, and since I was also (I'm assuming accidentally) temporarily infracted I was concerned that my original post was being misconstrued.

    I'm not much of a CSS guy and have no real opinion about it, though pure CSS is less obtrusive than adding more markup to the theme.

    Okay, I made it work in Firefox again, at the usual location.

    Apparently I can't override a stylish css declaration from how I inject my css.

    Also, the tooltip also isn't being sized correctly, but I'll worry about that later.

    So I said I'd worry about it later, and eventually I did.

    The tooltips are sized manually now so they don't get sized weirdly, and as a bonus, they also get wider if there's a lot of reacts. They also try to not to go off screen (which I thought was something jqueryui's .position() would do, but it wasn't working in this case).

    The user script continues to be at the usual location.

    I guess I will share a user script (aka greasemonkey) I wrote here, since anyone hiding the user reaction icons might find it useful, and that is something Ye Olde Style does. What it does is show who reacted to a post when you mouseover the reaction buttons. Specifically, it creates a tooltip that looks like this:

    8Alh8.jpg

    Obviously it'd be a blue background if you're using ye olde style, which I have tested it with. So far I've only tested it with Chrome, although I expect it will work with greasemonkey under firefox as well. It'll probably work even if you're not hiding the user reaction icons although I don't know why you'd care if that was the case.

    Additionally, the tooltip should stay up if you mouseover it so you can get the user info tooltip.

    Here's a download link:
    http://hg.cornhooves.org/userjs/raw-file/tip/paforums/pa-react-mouseover.user.js

    At some point I might make the tooltip look a bit nicer, but I thought I'd see if people think it is useful or not. If you try it out, let me know what you think, and whether it works or not.

    I don't know if I'm dumb or what, but I can't get this to work. I have GreaseMonkey installed, I put the script in, and it does nothing. What am I missing?

    I'm on Firefox, if that makes a difference.

    Make sure it's enabled. If you click the little dropdown arrow next to the monkey, there should be a checkbox next to the script. If not, click to enable it. Also make sure greasemonkey itself is enabled (which is more obvious because the monkey would be faded out)

    End on

    Bingo. The monkey was faded out, and I had never realized what that meant. Now it works perfectly. Thanks a lot! :)

    		visibility: hidden !important;

    		float: right !important;
    		padding-bottom: 10px !important;
    	}

    	.RecordReactions .PhotoWrapSmall {
    		display:inline !important;
    		visibility: visible !important;
    	}
    	.UserReactionWrap .ReactSprite {
    		bottom: 0px !important;
    		position: absolute !important;
    		right: 0px !important;
    	}

    At least in Firefox.

    Edit: Edited script to prevent icons from showing everywhere except user reactions.
    Edit2:Adjust position slightly.

    Is it possible to incorporate a click and drag thing for images, similar to what Reddit Enhancement Suite does for images on reddit? That would be sweet.

  • bowenbowen How you doin'? Registered User regular
    You'll probably need a browser plugin for that.

    Could do a user script still if it's firefox. I usually prefer user scripts to a full firefox or full chrome extension because it takes very little effort to get it working on the both.

    no idea what this click and drag feature is you're talking about though

    Image shows up in original size or in a size appropriated by the forum, user can click and drag the picture to make it larger to be easier to read.

    Some images are tiny or it's hard to read without opening a tab and zooming on it, RES eliminates the need to do that.

    Is there some way in Opera to make the style play nice with the forum feature where if you click on a thread, it instantly moves to the last read message? Because it doesn't instantly jump. It goes to the top of the page, loads for like 30 seconds, and then jumps to the last read message. Even if you've already manually scrolled down the page.

    It would be a nice bonus if this style could handle showing the Wanted tag people get sometimes. Currently seen here:http://forums.penny-arcade.com/discussion/172181/the-next-great-thread-in-the-giant-bomb-franchise/p43

    the forum's automated account seems to have a new functionality where it will track (?) certain posts, which is indicated by a special reactionesque icon

    e.g.
