cut between scenes of destruction and despair

that reminds me, aparently one of the commercials says that Mass Effect 3 is "better with Kinect"

so what does kinect do in ME3?

you can use it to do powers, like saying "charge" or "Garrus, overload"

and you can use it to say all of shepard's dialogue options instead of using the wheel

You don't actually have to say their name for powers.

I really enjoyed it, it made it more like the multiplayer which is less stop/start due to the removal of the combat wheels.

how does it know who to have use the power if there's overlap?

halfway in my new playthru of me2 i decided to use as little of the pause mechanic as possible and actually avoid cover

vanguard is so entirely satisfying just having reave and charge and pull on the quickbar

three guys on the far end of the room

charge into the first and they cartwheel off into space

cold cock and then shotgun the second

    turn to face the third

    kasumi decloaks, offs the guy

not really, because for everything after "having played the demo" i have to wonder if they released a second demo i missed or something

Are you honestly saying you cannot in any way conceive of anyone being fine with the gameplay? At all? I find that a bit dramatic ad kind of hard to believe.

And even if I didn't like the gameplay, isn't it okay to like games for their story and look, too? Psychonauts didn't have great gameplay, but a lot of people love the fuck out of it, and most of those people would agree that the gameplay could have used some more work.

my problem with the game is that i love the aesthetic and general thinking behind the game. it looks great, and the idea of these boss fights is really great. Only thing is, it turns out the game is some really mediocre brawler sections attached to "... tap y... tap y... tap y... MASH BBBBBBBBBB... tap y"

there is barely a game attached to these (awesome) cutscenes, so yes it's hard for me to believe that so many people here are more than happy to shell out $60 for it. i could not in good conscience support the developer by buying this game because it is not a very good game. Which is sad because it has an incredible look and premise.

    it's wasted potential.

i don't think that's all that unreasonable, and even though I bought it for 60 I probably would recommend other people wait until it drops to 30

I honestly don't know as I only went through the SP demo the one time, but I just ended up calling out powers cause it worked and it was quicker.

I'm seriously tempted to not recruit Tali on this run.

Like, the IFF is right there. I've got a couple of loyalty missions left. I could just skip her entirely.

I wonder what that would do to ME3.

how hard can it possibly be to recruit the quarians

I mean she's supposed to be a party member in ME3. So I could just lose that party member entirely?

Maybe I should send Garrus through the vents.

There's a slightly different introduction in ME2, but you still recruit him. Since he's part of the first batch of recruits, I don't think he's skipable in ME2.

Just a minor dialogue difference when you meet him in ME2, I think
"Garrus Vakarian? Last time I saw you, you were working for C-Sec. What happened?"

    something like that

Garrus is skippable. I think everybody else you have to recruit. Wrex is necessary to get to Tali, Tali is necessary to get off the Citadel. And Liara is on a plot world.
