Oh, fun Easter Egg spoiler: (warning, Easter Egg may contain poison) (recommend avoiding unless you're past Priority: Thessia)
So, Joker after Thessia, having the ambient with Liara?
You learn that his sister Hilary is on Tiptree, and he's trying to find out if she got out.
Then you hear the PTSD Asari's story, about what happened on Tiptree, and how she, by implication, killed that farm-girl so that the banshee wouldn't find her by the noise of the farm girl crying?
The farm-girl who "wanted to be a pilot when she grew up" and who PTSD Asari slips up exactly once and calls Hilary.
Yep.
How do you feel now about authorizing a gun for her?
I figured Liara would want to work out some frustration on TIM, and EDI had to come along. Little wussy-ass bitch ran away at the last second though, so she just had to settle for Kai Leng.
I like to think she got as much satisfaction as I did when I stuck that omniblade through his chest cavity.
It really is the most satisfying end to a boss fight. Especially since I just fucking hated that little prick and wanted him out of the fucking game.
I hated both encounters with him, largely because of the scripted bullshit involved.
I wouldn't have minded the second battle as much if I wasn't a vanguard, and was forced to rely almost exclusively on my teammates to fight him, lest I get insta gibbed upon getting into melee range of the little anime shitball.
all of that stuff coming together, Conrad having convenient studies, the matriarch writings, the elkhoss license and finally Jenna.
You are now a Golden God.
Would you mind going over that stuff? I fixed the medi gel dispensers but then Verner came out of nowhere and I was kind of confused

Question for taky
Why does it matter what I did for the krogan genophage if their entire population is either stuck in the Sol system or on Tuchanka?
I dunno, I feel like a lot of decisions lost their weight with the ending.

We should probably put a list of multiplayer homps, divided by platform, in the OP at some point.

Yeah, same here. I'm assuming that was a bug?

What the fuck. I've been staring at my screen for the last ten minutes trying to decide.
Priority:Rannoch
What the hell to do with Legion and making more smartgeth. It doesn't help that with subtitles on I get "Does this unit have a soul?" right in my face while I try to think. I've done everything I can in all the games to back Tali and the quarians because she is an OG spacebro from back in the days when it was just her, Garrus, and me making things happen. But Legion is a) pretty much right to ask whether they deserve death for defending themselves when fired on and b) a fantastic example of how this could all go so so well. At least with the Genophage I knew the salarian lady was a complete bitch about it.
Thanks Taky, Bioware, Obama, for making me have to go get a drink and really think about my virtual actions.
Continuing that same spoiler re:Rannoch.
Welp, I managed to broker a peace between the Quarians and true-AI Geth but Legion somehow died spreading the code? I don't get that part at all. Just a "oh hey I need to zip into the consensus or something real quick to spread this along" and than the Prime just drops the bomb that somehow that was a sacrifice of Legion. Dammit no more dead crew! Please just tell me their isn't a way to save him and still get the full on upgraded Geth at peace with everyone?

It's like Thane and Mordin. Legion's time is done. The only question is will his sacrifice be in vain?

Good. At least I can answer a big old NOPE to that. Thanks half-remembered but super important decisions I made in the last games! My next Shep I just finished very recently and is in totally different shape than this one, going to be interesting to see it play out.

This game is one of my favorite games I've ever played, and easily has the best narrative I've ever seen. The series is incredible, even if I have my problems with the ending
Plus you wrote mordin, who is easily one of my favorite characters in any video game ever. And the way he was handled in this game had tears welling up in my eyes.
So, yeah. Don't let our Internet opinions about the ending or whatever fool you. What you guys have created is a monumental accomplishment to be proud of.
An ending is literally the most important part of any narrative. It would be a monumental accomplishment if they done that to the same standard as everything else. The post-mortem should be highly interesting because it is so confusing how such demonstrably talented writers can make such an error in judgement and delivery. Taky is one of only two writers to have made it from ME1 so maybe the rotating writer's room is to blame.
Evidently
The lead writer wrote the ending by himself and didn't let any of the other writers see it or help revise it.
So I'm standing here at the ending of Mass Effect 3.
AND I HAVE NO FUCKING IDEA WHICH ONE TO PICK.
I know controlling the Reapers sounds like a really really bad idea, hence the Illusive Man wanting to do it. Destroying all synthetic life sounds pretty bad, too! I don't want to destroy all the geth and EDI and everything else I can't think of! Synthesis sounds like clearly the best one for me, but destroying all the Mass Relays sounds like a really bad thing to have happen! Considering what happened when Shepard blew up ONE Relay, it sounds like it would basically be the equivalent of a Reaper cycle, unless somehow it's a really safe 'blow up all the Relays'. The thing said "yep there's gonna be peace if you do this" but it sounds like it will actually fuck over all of modern society!
AAGH

The relays get blown up by default, because the crucible blah blah stupid bullshit.
So that doesn't factor into any of the three options.

Totally a bug.
If Verner is present, you're supposed to have to talk to him before you can fix the medigel dispensers. If he's not, you can just go fix them. Unless there's a fucking bug.
In re that character:
He is proud of the work he did on Illium with the orphans.

No shit you feel that way. Kinda me too! I have opinions on the ending -- short version, I never wanted it to be happy, but I did want it to be clear, and I wanted obvious differentiation based on choice and based on score, at least, with stuff from major decisions at least getting a nod. But... end of the day, I'm not the one wearing the shiny Lead Writer hat.
