Hey guys how big is Journey? I'm thinking of maybe downloading it when I get home tonight and playing through it before bed, considering how with this overtime I'll still be well caffeinated at 11 PM.
But if it takes an hour to download that plan is shot.

The biggest tragedy of the CBS merger seems that Alex is having to 'earn his chops' so to speak by writing articles.
Like, Vinny does most of his work through video editing and Patrick does it through insightful research.
Honestly? I don't think I've read a recent article by Brad. He seems to put most of his time into QL's, at least recently.
Patrick was hired so Jeff, Ryan, and Brad don't have to really even think about putting up articles anymore, and focus on features
Though since Patrick tends to lean more on the side of the kind of article that he has to put a lot of research and time into, Alex is pretty much there to do everything the other 5 don't want to, like review shitty games, write 'breaking' news articles, put up trailers
In B&W 1, the pet training was too hard. In B&W2, it was too easy.
That said, I really enjoyed B&W2. I think I'd like it more if it just didn't have pets at all. There are lots of god sim games, but not very many good ones.
I forget if it was B&W1 or 2, but I had to mod out the "Deaaaaaaaaath" whisper, because she was saying it constantly, even though I would have a large village with healthy/happy people, usually dying of old age

I think they should have just taken the pets out completely. you're supposed to be a god, not cater to some giant tamagotchi. replace them with prophets or something, make 'em more useful and less likely to throw giant pieces of poop at people.

Imagine a game where, using motion controls you act out the dynamic action hero moves while the character on screen sits comfortably in its living room with a game pad, hitting buttons to determine your moves.

you know what? Peter Molyneux is a really cool dude
now I want to play Black and White again
he's a really nice dude who can't shut up and is firmly lodged outside of reality
he makes staggeringly mediocre and overhyped games
Nah, Fable 1 and 2 were both greatly overhyped but also very fun. I wouldn't call them great games, but they were certainly good, and definitely not mediocre.

Fable 1 is one of my favorite games ever. I never payed attention to it until after it released, so I never knew anything about the hype surrounding it.
Also I loved Black & White

the Fable and Black & White games were exceedingly clunky even if they contained good ideas
Dungeon Keeper is the only Molyneaux game i've played that controlled well
Fable always seemed to me like perfectly serviceable middle-of-the-road WRPGs that were just wrecked by Peter Molyneux never knowing when to keep his damn mouth shut. Of course people are gonna be disappointed when you tell them that it's a complete medieval fantasy life simulator and it turns into a just somewhat open-ended adventure.
I know DBZ got turned into a korean MMO years ago, and they haven't even bothered trying to sell it to the west (they don't even want you in the dang game if you can't prove you're Korean by having a valid cell phone number). I'm pretty annoyed with that outcome.
edit: granted, it's still in "open Beta" and has been for years. Somehow I doubt they're even trying to push a 1.0
We already pretty much know that barring any major surprises, this year's GOTY will be either Bioshock Infinite or Diablo 3. AC3 will get a consideration, as well as Borderlands 2, and I'm gonna say Far Cry 3 because of my gigantic unabashed bias.

Just like 2011's GOTY was guaranteed to be Uncharted 3, Arkham City, or Skyrim...
The "Best Downloadable" category or whatever they call it is gonna be the one to watch, really. Like two hours of them trying to pick apart if it should be Fez or Journey.

He is basically an intern
This week-end though. Probably better to play it at a time when more people are playing, too.
He's a real good writer, I always enjoy his reviews
Yeah I was gonna say, Brad, Jeff and Alex are the most frequent reviewers, and they do good work.

... yeah I'd probably play that
spent a lot of nights in my room sitting cross-legged on my bed, smoking bowls and saving albion and giggling at the demon doors
Also I loved Black & White

The spells were so much fun in Fable 1, I was disappointed with their "updates" in Fable 2.
Also, Fable 1 is a fantastic game. I love it a lot.

Well yeah, and then it totally was. The major surprise was Saints Row, and it was considered.
