    The water pooling at her feet and legs is starting to become a tad bit annoying. With a quick tap of her ankles, a pair of wings sprout forth from her boots carrying her up and out of the water to a spot hovering above the party and facing the proned dragon head on. Instructing her Demon to take advantage of its vulnerable state, she sends a torrent of dreadful visions, its spawn tortured, itself caged and tormented for ages, a painful and gruesome death, all aimed at destroying what will the large lizard might still have within it. While it seems to cower beneath this fearful assault, the demon's actions are less then helpful as its pair of swords smash into the scales of the dragon, bouncing off harmlessly with a resounding clash.

    Actions:
    Start of Turn: Saving Throw #1 vs Daze: 1d20+3 16. No longer dazed!

    Minor Action: Activate Winged Boots. I gain Fly Speed 5 until the end of the encounter.

    Move Action: Fly to L12, 2 squares up.

    Just as black blood pours from the dragon's wounds, so too does brackish water continue to flow down the obsidian walls. The torrent becomes so strong that what was once a deep puddle becomes a swirling pool, lifting the slayers off their feet (though the dusty spirit is unmoved by the rushing waters.

    In the chaos Umbramire once again appears to split in two, an errant splash alerting our heroes to a dragon both near and far.

    Zedath swims forward, braving the acid and the fire that burns despite being covered in flames. The Zedath-who-once-was opens his mouth to say something about that tactical decision but thinks better of it.

    "Thank you for your assistance, but I think the dragon won't fall for that trick again," calls Zedath and waves his hand in a sweeping motion. The former Zedath bows and disappears in a swirl of smoke.

    The shaman directs Zedath to reform above the water and above Ubramire. "Let the spirits of renewal strip away the filth in your soul, dragon!" he shouts as Mazdrah hammers the dragon with his powerful fists. As Mazdrah's blows connect with Umbramire, tiny motes begin sparking off of the impacts. The tiny spirits quickly swarm around Kothargix, healing some of his wounds and forming a protective halo around his head, promising more healing as the fight drags on.

    Actions:
    Start of round: Take acid damage, reduced to 5.

    Move: Athletics (Swim Check): 1d20+14 19

    Since Zedath didn't have a stroke, he doggy paddles to L9. Mazdrah ascends the escalator to L4+3 (floating adjacent above Umbramire).

    Standard: Voice of Battle vs Umbramire (28): 1d20+21 41 1d6+10 13

    Crit! Ubramire (or his clone, with my luck) takes 16+11=27 damage. In addition, Kothargix regains 6 HP (Crit Property of my weapon) and gains Regeneration 6 until the end of the encounter (Daily Weapon Power - Free Action).

    Faces of the Fallen and all that good stuff, if that is, in fact, the real dragon.

    I take 5 fire damage as the zone ends at the end of my turn.

    So mighty are Mazdrah's fists that the dragon is literally annihilated! Though the splash of acidic goo leads Alénthian to believe it may have been another illusion. Around the corner Umbramire appears to chuckle.

    Meanwhile the ghost of the red abomination attempts to hound our 'bold sorcerer further, but succeeds only in entangling it's three necks together.

    "That will not save you, Wyrm," Alénthian intones, his voice sounding weary with the dragon's tricks.

    He fades into being, but not where he assumed he would be. Instead, he finds himself in the crystal maze, with the dragon visible in the water outside.

    Alénthian dives into the vertical wall of water, and casually slides his spear into the space between two scales, and twists. Umbramire roars in pain, even as the Eladrin's prayer moves him back towards the rest of the Slayers through the ether. But Alénthian refuses to relent. He pops into existance beside the dragon, droplets of water shaken loose from his wings as he hovers beside his lifesworn foe. Well, one of them, anyhow.

    The Eladrin then dives again, leading the charge with his speartip, and crashes into the beast with a flash of grace and light.     Evanche spends several annoyed moments looking this way and that for signs of the coward of a lizard they'd been fighting. When Alenthian manages to wrench the creature free of the water and splash it back down to ear, she briefly flies out of the rising liquid to approach the stunned enemy, inhaling as she does so. "FORSEE YOUR DEATH AS IT HAS BEEN FORETOLD," her voice bellows, reverberating throughout the room and echoing between the pillars of soul that clog the arena's centre. "YOUR SUFFERING SHALL BE ETERNAL. YOUR DEATH AS PAINFUL AS THE PAIN YOU INFLICTED UPON OTHERS IN LIFE. YOU SHALL BE SHOWN NO MERCY." This exclamantion then worms its way into the mind of the dragon, a loud booming voice heard only by the unfortunate creature within itself and drowing out all other thoughts that it might have had in this moment. As if on cue, the Demonbound that had been floating patiently behind it raises its twin swords and then buries them into Umbramire's head.

    Actions:

    Move Action: Fly up 1 squares to L11, then down 1 to get back into the water.

    No Action: I Raise My Voice. My next divine attack can crit on 19-20 and enemies take -2 saving throws against the attack's effects, if any. I am Dazed until the end of my next turn.

    Twin swords protuding through his eye-sockets, the black dragon shrieks in agony and despair. With an expression of shock and anger twisting it's face, the foul creature seems to melt into the murky water. The crystal in Kothargix's hands seems to swell at the same time, pulsing with some new-found energy. Looking closely, the sorcerer can see gnashing black teeth and a faint "Nooooooo" coming from inside the object.

    Unfortunately the swell seems to have affected the rest of the crystalline structure. A faint rumble takes hold, disturbing the already rough waters, while cracks begin to appear in the maze. As it begins to crumble so too does the barrier around it, allowing the still-rising black liquid to fill the entire chamber.

    Rising with it at an ever increasing speed, the slayers brace themselves for impact against the high ceiling. At the last second, however, the obsidian slides away to reveal open skies. Catches themselves before they spill over with the flood, our heroes clamber their way up the side of the next floating structure. Far below them, past fluffy white clouds, they can make out the Arcauen countryside that surrounds the capital.

    Before them, a sparse balcony and a towering doorway.

    "Slayers..." The echo in the dark hall does nothing to dampen the contempt with which the word is delivered. Casting about in search of their prey, our heroes see only spiralling patterns and symbols scorched into the obsidian floor. Following these maddening swirls, they are confronted by an elder red dragon- well, as confronted as one can be when finding oneself in front of an overweight dragon curled up on the floor.

    Closer now, the slayers recognise this one as Bahl'Monah, a once mighty ruler who ruled the northern wastes with an iron claw. "I had hoped the souls of my brothers would be enough." The she-dragon sounds almost forlorn. "But it would seem that you have won. Come, take your prize."
    Roll initiative and pick a starting spot that is more than 6 squares away from the dragon.

    Evanche picks through the soaked rubble, taking an odd looking headdress and new cloak, hopefully for some protection from the cold. She then gets her wish as the arena heats back up, narrowing her eyes as the creature of magma lumbers forward challenging them. While the rest of the party assumes a position to the south of the lumbering beast, she makes her way north hoping to catch the creature from behind and at least avoid most of the inevitable blasts of fire. Not that, as a tiefling, she's opposed to fire...but every little bit helps.

    "All in service to Nihilox." Bahl'Monah fixes the eladrin with a dull eyed stare and remains still as the slayers advance with weapons drawn. A dull cracking sound echoes from the entrance, causing our heroes to freeze for a moment and finally eliciting a response from the dragoness. Her eyes light up and she finally stirs.

    "Of course, my lord, brilliant!" Her voice coos, punctuated by a faraway crash. "There are many souls below us..."

    Without warning the obsidian floor cracks and splinters like thin ice, crumbling into chunks between the slayers' feet. Plummeting through the air they find themselves directly above the capital, hurtling towards it along with several hundred tons of pure obsidian. Clouds consume them for a moment and the dragon takes the opportunity to douse them with blazing breath.

    Regular combat rules apply, with a simple caveat: There are three altitude 'levels'- (high); (mid); and (low). You gain combat advantage against, but also grant combat advantage to, creatures on a different level to you. The dragon is large enough that range is not affected by your altitude level.

    To change your altitude level, make an Acrobatics check as part of a move action- DC24 to move one level up or down, DC33 to move two levels. This does not effect how far you can move in that action. Creatures with a fly speed automatically pass this check.

    Along with the screaming and the burning and the plummeting to their certain doom, Kothargix remembers that he has a ring of Featherfall! Digging in his myriad belt pouches, he pulls it out and swaps it with the somewhat disappointing Ring of the Dragonborn Emperor. Then he also remembers the ring on his other finger, the Primordial Ring, and activates it hoping for some protection against the fire of this bloated Red.

    Then he keeps falling, but not screaming anymore. And more focused on slaying yet another dragon and adding its fangs to his collection.

    Unable to do the simple action of swapping rings, Evanche curses for a while at picking up this ridiculous headdress. At least common sense won out after the last battle, as she then retrieves her old crownring from her pack and swaps that with the headdress adorning her head. Speaking some words of power, she then conjures an ethereal spirit that lingers around her person, slowing her descent and giving her far more control over over her movement this far up.

    Minor Action: Stow Gaj Headdress in my pack.
    Minor Action: Retrive Crownring of Tchazzar & equip it.

    While the slayers execute their various costume changes, they fail to notice the now exposes soul traps begin to crumble above them. From the splinters, tugged by ethereal winds, a screaming torrent of dragonlings race toward the melee. Though Kothargix is able to ward them away with his newfound crystal and the deva and eladrin are able to weather the storm, Amon'Kul is dragged backward by the ghostly tikes.

    With a little breathing room he is, however, better able to fend off the dragon's claws. Alenthian is not as lucky, his ribs cracking between clawed fingers. Bahl'Monah relishes the sound and, emboldened, clamps her jaws around the tiefling.

The spirit nods and explodes into a cloud of gritty shrapnel, stinging the eyes of Bahl'Monah with sand and rocks. Her feeble attempts to clear her vision gives the other slayers an opportunity to pinpoint her weaknesses.

    Mazdrah reappears beside the avenger. He pulses twice, and both Alénthian & Amon'Kul feel soothing wind cover their bodies, easing their aching wounds.

    Drifting slightly to the left, Kothargix enacts his magics and evokes the ghostly image of a dragon's maw that chomps down on Bahl'Monah with a thunderous peal. Fitting as they are out amongst the clouds.

    Kothargix then devotes some more attention to using the crystal to eliminate the dragonling threat as well.

    Evanche uses the power of her summoned...whatever the hell it was, to quickly sail across the falling battlefield, getting close enough to the dragon to begin to despise, but hopefully far enough away that it will not see her yet. Intoning a soft prayer to Hoar, she calls down from heaven, an unexpected twist this time considering where the rest of her friends have come from, a glowing knight adorned in solmen white-black armor. It extends a sword out forward before slashing at the dragon and causing a loud clang to reverberate through the air, tinged with a holy resonance. Unfortunately, it does not pierce the hide.

    Circling around through the clouds, the stream of dragonling souls begins to converge into one ghostly apparition of an elder dragon. Scything through the air, it rends through physical and spirit world alike. Mazdrah disappears instantly before the assault, while Amon'Kul is dragged against Bahl'Monah's jaws by the downward force.

    Feeling the prey in her jaws tugged at, the she-dragon clenches a fist around one of the tiefling's legs. "Ou iw eed y as-er!" she says through the armoured mouthful and, as if to punctuate her words, let's loose a mighty bellow of dragonfire. Blocked by the fireproof tiefling, the flames gout sideways from her jaws, dousing both Alenthian and Zedath, searing their skin to black.

    Now Amon'Kul had been through dragonfire many times before and this was not the worst he'd experienced. But combined with the chewing and the clawing and the disembodied souls of countless dragonkin, he was really beginning to break a sweat. Funny, he thinks as it begins to pour over his eyes, his sweat has never been red before...

    Conjuring up yet another spell, Koth calls up the essence of a pair of mighty dragons wings that sprout from his back. With a mighty buffet of these wings, a gale of winds pummels the dragon sending it reeling and momentarily knocked off kilter in mid-air. It will take only a moment for the beast to right itself, a moment hopefully his allies can exploit.

    Scanning the skies for danger, Kothargix returns his attention to the bauble. He almost had it figured out.....YES!!...wait....no. Oops.

    Annoyed at his companion's dismissal, Zedath gestures with his totem once again and summons Mazdrah back into existence near the dragon. The shaman carves a sigil in the air with his totem, and Alénthian feels a cool breeze wash over him, healing his wounds. The deva takes a moment to catch his breath before leveling the totem at Bahl'Monah.

    "There's nowhere to hide, fiend. Not even the sky can save you from the wrath of the forest!" Without warning, a treant bursts forth from thin air and begins battering the dragon with massive limbs. Bahl'Monah is caught off guard by the assault, leaving her exposed to an all-out assault by Zedath's allies.

    The dragon roils around in the air, being buffetted this way and that by the party, and the tiefling sees no reason why this shouldn't continue. Taking advantage of its blinded state, she casts a rebuke into the creature's mind to recoil and repent at its immiment demise. It stumbles in the air and continues to fall back toward her angelic guardian. As if on cue, the angel's blazing sword slashes out, drawing blood through several scales and more importantly, dims the creature's sight even further as it is forced to remain in a tiny, shrinking world as it awaits its impending doom.

    Actions:

    Doing what they do best, the slayers send Bahl'Monah tumbling teeth over tail through the cloudbanks. With nothing in her grasp she flails blindly, but can hardly tell which way is up let alone where her enemies are. There is a cry of pain but it is not her doing.

    In tinkering with the soul crystal, Kothargix inadvertently drew their ire. To his magically attuned senses a sharp beam of pure hatred pulses from it, as if summoning the souls to attack. Flocking like locusts the dragonlings peck and claw until the sorcerer is bleeding from a dozen wounds.

    Distracted by the battle, the slayers haven't realised they are falling directly toward the Imperial Palace of Arcauen's capital. Alénthian realises immediately where they are when he hears the faint poom-poom of the aerial defence cannons dishes out their deadly payloads. Clearly they'll be targeted at the dragon's giant wingspan, but there's a good chance the slayers may also get caught in the fire...

    "Amon, I suggest you and Zedath's minion move," Alénthian cautions as he casually evades the dragon's strikes. He points down, indicating the palace, and the cannons aimed right at the tiefling and spirit. "That is not a prudent place to be."

    He then spins his elaborately decorated spear, before plunging it into the dragon, just below a wing-joint. The spearhead bites deeply, and the Avenger twists it cruelly before pulling it out, leaving a huge wound. The edges burn and rot with Divine retribution.

    Something feels wrong. Not the dragon after dragon attempting to escape their just punishment, that's just Tuesday. No, this freefall does not seem entirely normal to the tiefling, who takes a moment to distract herself from the battle and simply look around. Upon noticing the defense cannons below ready and primed to eliminate all skyborne threat, Evanche smirks. "Well, I guess this means the dragon should stay exactly where it is now." Twisting the ring on her finger, several ethereal metallic chains form and surround the dragon, restricting his movement.

    Standard Action: Hold Monster (Ranged 5, Charm, Enchantment) on Bahl'Monah, who is now Restrained until the end of my next turn.
