But anyways, yes. Lots of series get cut down short, or peter out. (Personally a third season would have been nice)

It is what it is, and one of the big rules of showmanship is always leave the audience wanting more.

Weirdmageddon Part 2 is on Nov 23.

No the hourlong special is parts 2 and 3 which they are airing on Nov 23 as detailed in the article.

I'm sad it's going to be over, but the creators said from the start this wasn't going to be like Spongebob, Adventure Time, etc where it lasted a bunch of seasons. They had a planned start, planned finish, and didn't want to dilly-dally. I respect that.

Yeah, as sad as I am that the series is ending, I'm glad it's actually getting to finish instead of just hanging on in perpetuity until it sucks.

I wonder if they'll do a Futurama finale where it ends with Time Shenanigans that have the series restart from the beginning. Time Shenanigans wouldn't even be in the top ten weird things in the series.

Futurama did it ok, but Futurama is built in a way that allows the status quo to reset. The stakes were never very high in that show, even with all the universe consuming weirdness.

Doing a Time Reset for Gravity Falls would just negate every high, low and character development the show had over four years. Plus, its pretty much cop out.

I'm okay wiith character arcs being left undone, like Pacifica's or Blendin's. The show's not about the side characters, no matter how well done they are. It's about Mabel and Dipper and their adventure. It's closer to life that way.

Think of all of the people you met and made ties with at any given point. You had so few interactions with them that you only ever got a small vibe of their personality, or you made an awesome friend. Where are they now? Do you know how their character arc ended?

You probably know the status of the person you actually made friends with, maybe, if you kept at the relationship. I don't see the twins doing that with Pacifica or, say, the other teenagers besides Wendy. Wendy's too badass not to be friends with.

Disney XD has a Gravity Falls marathon going on from now until about tomorrow afternoon if anyone has that channel. Looks like they are showing many of the episodes and some of the shorts too.

Which I'm inclined to believe because it's only fitting that Gravity Falls ends after a ridiculous hiatus.

Wierdmageddon Part 2 is playing on Nov 23. that is a thirty minute episode. Verified by my parents' TV guide.

Wierdmageddon Part 3 is going to be an hour long episode. Yet to be decided on for airing date. It'd make total sense for a hiatus, because Hirsch said GF wouldn't end until 2016.
