    Hot, but useless.

I believe it's specifically intended as a direct sequel to the first live-action movie, retconning the other two out of existence.

The movie acknowledges that all three live action films happened. Splinter has a room filled with artifacts from them, including the TCRI ooze canister, the Samurai armor from III, and Shredder's helmet.

There's a screen floating around here somewhere. This is TMNT IV.
Fuck that. TMNT III never happened.

    This is TMNT III.

That samurai armor is just an inside joke.

And the scepter in the glass case so no one can touch it?

As for April, looks like there will be prequel comics that may explain that, as she has one of the titles. And it says the middle two movies aren't canon.

But then, the director says they did happen.

I think it's a matter of "if you want them to have happened, then they could have, and if not, then no, it doesn't matter greatly either way."

That's sort of a shame. I just grabbed the first movie on DVD, and it holds up pretty damn well. It's a great, quirky action movie with enjoyable characters and surprisingly good photography.

That having been said, I'd rather forget they cashed in with II and III (which were both shit even by kid standards), and just accept the original was pretty cool, and that it ought to have a proper sequel.

That samurai armor is just a coincidence.

I don't remember anything about the third one, but I can't imagine anything being worse than the second movie. The Ice Man aside. They're supposed to be the Ninja Turtles, but they never really fight anyone. They trick the enemies into eating anti-mutagen donuts and try not to die until it takes effect, then sit back and have a group hug while the watch Shredder defeat himself. God, I get a headache just thinking about it.

In the third film Splinter is a dog and the turtles are frogs with serious skin cancer.

Also there's nothing even remotely entertaining about it. It is perhaps the most abysmally disappointing movie in history. They even ruined Casey Jones.

Gotta disagree about the clips; the second one made me all happy in my pants.
I mean, Jesus, the Leo/Raph rivalry has been going ever since the first movie, from 19-fucking-90, if they're gonna throw down at long last, then I want to see it. Besides, from a quality standpoint, the voice acting sounds very solid.

As for the GBA game, considering that I've been going through Turtles-games withdrawl lately, I can't wait. ...Either that, or I should just man up, nab a Genesis off Ebay, and get to playing Hyperstone Heist.

I was so excited when I heard that Konami would be making more Turtles games after as much time as there was following the classics, and I couldn't imagine a better reason for the Japanese publisher to be picking this up (continuing their legacy and all)... so then why did they go on to run it into the ground with crappy games and get out done by the very next developer to nab the license? It's just that much worse that all Ubi had to do was stick top Konami's old formula when even Konami refused to.

Anyway, I've watched the 1080p trailer many times now and I'm just not excited for the movie. The hand-picked jokes aren't just for kids, they're simply not funny. Some people chuckle anytime they hear the "did anyone catch the license plate of that..." line but they're retards. To say that it's funny because he also insulted his own mother doesn't change things. Calling a clasping scream a "move" isn't funny. All I'm saying is that if it's not going to be funny, just take the funny out and be epic and moody... even PG-moody is fine.

I read the first issue and I don't remember there being anything about them having the same mother just because they were all baby turtles. Did the new movie get that right? It's kinda hard for four wild turtles from the same set of eggs to get bottled all at once by some kid or whatever, and straight-up wild turtles wouldn't spend a moment near eachother after hatching one by one.

I've been waiting for decades for somebody to expand on the brawler concept. We've made a little progress with Aliens Vs. Predator (Capcom, Arcade), but the concept hasn't been fun ever since that game.

I know a bad idea when I see it. Sorry this is not going to be a fun game. It's going to be a boring combo exercise, with an addictive item purchasing system, and the fun concepts such as being able to clear a room with telephone poles will be too far and too between to justify the hype. Don't get too excited over this game guys.
