So here's a quick mockup I did for a d6. the same dpad concept could be on all the dice. Looks like Q-workshop can do this kind of thing and according to their site it doesn't alter the price? bayimg.com/mammPAAEJ
Also, that is brilliant and amazing. Is it possible to darken the color d-pads/Xs? They feel a bit too busy and the numbers get lost in the sameness.
EDIT: my brother just had a great idea. Outline the numbers in red or black. Oh also, your numbers are in the wrong spots. Each side is sposed to equal seven. Six and one should be opposite each other on the die

I like then dark on white, cause it's not something seen all the time.
Though the numbers on the test die are in the wrong places. Might want to fix that.

I would think that it would look cooler with the colors flipped. But i like Light colors on dark backgrounds
Guys keep in mind that the colours won't actually matter once the dice are actually printed.
The engraved parts (i.e. the patterns and numbers) will only be in the colour that we choose (colour chart in the OP)

Wait wait wait, I think you misunderstand me. What i mean is a dark blue color die, with white paint.
I really like the design, but my concern is that when we shrink the D6 (12mm?) it will look muddy and be hard to read.
There is a huge difference between that large high res paper die and a smaller carved plastic one.
I thought so too, but the Q-workshop website says that "They are carved with high-precision machines, which allow us to achieve amazing level of detail."
They give an example here which looks pretty good for our purposes.
One thing I didn't think of though is whether they can print right to the edge of the dice. If not, my design doesn't really work.

That's something I'll have to talk to them about.
Oliver send me a PM. Let's take this off the thread for a bit until we can get things sorted out.
I will need to send your design to Q-Workshop to see if they can print it.
After that we can take suggestions from the thread for tweaks and changes.
I need to get voting on designs and colours rolling soon and while it's great you're doing designs and all, posting them on the thread without talking to me doesn't really help. I'd prefer to get all the designs in one place, post them all together, take suggestions, and then start voting.
Savvy?
Edit: ANYONE ELSE WITH DESIGNS, PLEASE DO THEM UP AND SEND THEM TO ME BY MONDAY MAY 13th

Yeah man, I already agreed to that. I haven't posted any designs since. Savvy.
Apparently Q-Workshop requires you to fully customize each side of each dice so that means we'll be getting a fully customized set of dice.
This does mean designing will be taking a little longer to do but it ultimately means we'll have an even more awsome project when we're done.
I am hoping to have all designs finished by Friday so we can get on to voting this weekend/next week.
Here are some previews of some designs done up by @OliverHolsfield
D6:
D20:
Thanks Oliver!
I was considering making up a theme for each dice as well.
Themes I was thinking of were: classic games - pacman or space invaders, board games - meeple maybe?, and of course Seattle monuments such as the space needle.
I love the design but do we have the option to inverse the colors? I would love to see a blue dice with white detailing. I know it was mentioned about but there didn't seem to be an answer.
I like the idea of Blue with white. But it seems so generic. Having white with blue isn't something I see regularly.
As for the themes. Is each die of the D20 set individualy themed? If so, i propose one of them to be a classic VG theme. Mario, Tetris, or something like that. Iconic Classic game. Or a mash up of multiple.

Yes don't pay attention to the colours at all.
They're just the placeholder colours we happen to be designing in.
The vote will determine what colour theme we go with based on the chart posted in the OP (i.e. #33 #13 etc.)
That being said, any last comments on colour before I set up voting?

Yes I was proposing an individual theme for each dice in the set.
Yeah I was thinking Pacman or something similar. My current design for the D20 only has the 20 side customized as each side on the D20 is too small to put anything else but a number.
That's best. I'd say one side of each die is best. Or something like his D6, where the design is off the number place.
As for color, which are the options for voting on?

I would like to keep them as more of a set as opposed to making each die different.

I'm going to be taking the most common colours people had mentioned a few pages ago in this thread. Probably #13, #33 and a few others.

Hmm, ok well here's the D20 I have done up.
While @OliverHolsfield 's D20 design was cool, it was exactly the same as the D6 so this was my attempt to include some variety in the set.
What I'm hearing you say though is to have 1 theme?
What do other people think?
Shall we stick with 1 forumer theme?
What should the rest of the dice have on them?
I'll be setting up colour voting this afternoon so I may include a question in there about theme (i.e. 1 forum theme vs separate themes for each dice)
Hey all. This will be my first PAX, and I am new to the forums (this is only like my second or third post) but I would love to get in on this dice action, if it's not too late. To throw my newly formed opinion in the ring, I concur with the "single theme" chorus. As mentioned above, much classier. I dunno if there is anything else to say now, so I will just say this: Hi! Hope to stick around. This seems like one of the nicest and least jerk-filled holes in all of the many internets.

Great design!
I'll be posting this in the OP along with any others people put forward.
I have an idea for the D20 design, sit tight ;-)
In the future though, could you PM the design and then I can post to the thread?
Thanks
I gotta give Skelevader credit for drawing the numbers, and Yamara for providing the crest. Thanks guys!
