Do you call Smith Twelve or Thirteen?

Twelve. I ignore the double Tennant. I'm calling Capaldi Thirteen. Again this is just twisted internal logic on my part.

That's going to make forum discussions confusing.

What you have to remember is that in America they called the sixth one three.

  • LarsLars Registered User regular
Most people call it six now, due to seven making everyone aware of the actual numbering and because in the age of the internet it's easier for everyone to be on the same page.

If you say six, everyone knows you mean six. But if you say six when you mean three, things get confusing.

I think Tank is making a Final Fantasy joke

I know, hence "seven making everyone aware of the actual numbering" and such.

    ...Ghosted?

No, that isn't quite right for this situation.

    Oh I know!
    You earned a scholarship!

    :)

(edit: Not trying to turn that into a thing, just making a dumb joke)

Nah, I use actor names when actually discussing them.

Ten's situation was different because it was in the first 15 hours, but given that Azmael died by triggering a thirteenth regeneration, I guess the 'little bit of energy left' thing works with canon.

It kind of makes me wonder whether River knew he was on his last body by The Angels Take Manhattan.

I was thinking more of the Master circa Deadly Assassin and most of Keeper of Traken. I can imagine him gritting his teeth and sort of heaving himself into 3/4 of a new body.

That would fit. Her reaction was kinda harsh

Ah, yeah. I didn't think of crispy Master as that, but yeah.

Speaking of the Master, here's an adorable Tumblr thing. And unless you have a high tolerance for NSFW in your Doctor Who fan drawings, do not go elsewhere on that Tumblr.

I don't usually post Extended Universe stuff since there's so much of it and I'm still doing my run on the classic series, but this looks pretty cool. It's the first piece of official fiction involving the War Doctor since the 50AS.

I'll be interested to see what name ol' Dubya Dee uses to refer to himself. It's a lot harder to skirt around the problem in text than it is on screen.

I didn't half-mind George Mann's contributions to the Time Hunter novella series a few years back, so it'll be interesting to see where he goes with this.

Also, is that a special weapons bronze Dalek on the top left of that cover?

    Awesome.

Wow, I thought they would skirt around what exactly the Doctor did in the Time War forever. I hope it's good, I'm kind of tempted to get a copy.

    Matt Smith Joins Terminator Reboot
n case you were wondering how Matt Smith would spend his time now that he's done with Doctor Who, that appears to have been solved. According to Deadline, the Eleventh Doctor is joining the new Terminator trilogy that Deadline are describing as "a major role that will grow in the second and third films." In other words, he won't be cannon fodder.

Oh god all my best fanfic is coming to life.

If they find a way to work in Mr. Peabody I'll have to watch this movie in an adult theatre.

As a real curmudgeon about the Terminator franchise and reboots in general, I want to make a joke about canon fodder.

With a Red Dwarf signed ... thingy behind him, no less.

Time for some uninformed speculation / wishful thinking: Red Dwarf reboot film with McGann as Rimmer.

This can never happen. I know its not, but just the thought of someone rebooting that, no. bad.

Totally unexpected. He's probably cast as a time traveler and...wait...

The only part of Let's Kill Hitler I really enjoyed were Rory's reactions to things

"You know how to drive a motorbike?"
"I expect so. It's been that kind of day."

  • CyvrosCyvros Registered User regular
Let's Kill Hitler is almost entirely held up by Rory.

    Also Hitler.

That last one was not something I thought I'd ever say.

I actually feel like bale. I liked the episode except for the like first fifteen minutes.

After river shows up it was good.

Its the first episode where River is at a disadvantage to the Doctor. There arn't many of those but they are interesting.

Also I don't know how you couldn't love the Doctor going through all his newer companions and demanding the computer "Show me somebody I haven't ruined yet".

    Tragic, but great.

The line I hated the most in "Let's Kill Hitler" was Mel's explanation for why she wasn't at Amy and Rory's wedding. "I don't do weddings", really? When you've already established that she's been in and out of prison? Just say she was locked up, rather than trying to make her cool and diffident towards apparently two of her best friends.

At least that episode gave us more Rory.

Actually, yeah, that was a really good sad moment.
