That said, I appreciated the interplay between the boss and both Shaundi and Viola. I thought their snarky criticisms and put-downs were a good counterpoint to the boss, who is really an arrogant lunatic.
The boss or at least some voice sets feels like it's based on the gamers that play these games and how they play them. Male boss 1 had some nerdy lines interspersed with his penchant of just causing as much destruction as possible.

I played with the brit voice in SR3 and loved every second. He's just the right amount of asshole brit to be hilarious, which will be even better in SR4 as President.
Curious if he'll have any lines discussing the constitutionality of that...

Of course, one of their first acts in office was to pass the 31st Amendment allowing for foreign born Presidents. ;-)
It's the golden rule, he who has the gold (and the guns) makes the rules.
I was really enjoying the idea of the limited edition with the spinning display case, but then they had to go and step their limited edition game up. The Super Dangerous Wad Wad Edition I mean, a display case is good and all but it has nothing on a Lambo, trip to space, Washington D.C, and Dubai, and everything else that's in that pack.
Er, yo, Station has been up on EU-PSN for a while.

Can't decide whether I want this for PS3 or 360. My previous Saints Row experiences were on 360, but I've heard that PS3 had much fewer tearing and framerate issues than the 360 one for SR3.
Guns are more useful 90% of the time than missiles, faster, longer range and laser accurate. If you're running into stuff, just hover above the van you're protecting.
Honestly, heli assault isn't that bad, non GotR escort however will make you want to murder someone.

Only use guns during Kinzie's missions. The tracking missile's on Pierce's helicopter are really useful though.
Yeah, the guns in SR3 are even better than the ones in SR2 for choppers. It's one of the few games that does miniguns/cannons right along with Spec Ops: the Line. A half second burst will shred anything.
Someone in Dubai will buy it....gets the trip to the local bar down the street.

Quick question, I'm trying to back up my Saints Row the Third saves and I can't find their folder location. I always manually back up my saves. Is it in STEAM?
Right now I'm 4% away from booting the Luchadores and 5% from booting the Morning Star in their western district of Steelport. I have done all gang operations, bought everything, and no more activities show up on my map as being unfinished. According to maps on google, there should be a trailblazing and Genki actvity in the Grove, and I think something at Wesley Intl Airport, but I've looked everywhere and cannot find a "hidden activity" like I did with Mayhem earlier.
What gives?
I assume it's a bug to do with using the two takeovers, but geez.
I have never experienced a problem using either the purchased city takeover or the mission reward city takeover. I specifically have used them to eliminate the airport zone (Hard Escort) and the Lucha zone with Hard Trailblazing (shut up).
Hover over on the map tells you exactly what you are missing in the city area. If you are missing an activity it will say activities 14/15 or gang wars 7/8 or whatever.
Find what it says you're missing then look for the grey area, as opposed to the purple areas which you have completed, on the map, that is the location roughly of whatever the thing is. Then I'd hunt for it manually.
I'm missing three activities (escort, trailblazing, and genki) but I've scoured the gray areas and have come up with nothing.
Go back to the easy instance of that activity (within the same city area) and complete it. That should unlock the normal and hard versions of the activity in that city zone.
This is probably the issue. Using city takeover may have completed an easy activity for you, but you need to actually complete it for reals to unlock the others.
However, easy escort/trailblazing/genki are all... well, they're all easy so it should be fine for you.
-edit-
Just to be 100% clear. You need to do the easy genki in the lucha area to unlock the normal and hard versions in the lucha area, the genki in the downtown are separate.
Yeah, that choice was always pretty easy. STAG takeover doesn't really net you much in the long run.
I actually bought the pack that gives you all the mission rewards up front. I always immediately use it on the airport district (fuck hard escort) and then don't even need to purchase the other city takeover (I figured out how to do hard trailblazing).
And then when it comes to the STAG mission I take Birk because Birk is fucking hilarious.
I found the issue. Apparently I did those missions in co-op and had to SKIP them (not complete them again) to unlock them. There's no indication of this on the minimap, and just...really terrible.
So, 100% takeover and all collectibles snagged. I don't feel like I need to do bunch of assassinations and 63 stunt jumps to consider this game more or less done with. A shame it ended on such a sour note (last activity was a hard escort GUH) with the fairly half-assed DLC and the co-op mucking with shit.
Saint's Row 2 begins tomorrow, so suggest whatever options you want for the Boss I make.

The assassinations are fun in the sense you can set up some really awesome, and dumb, ways to kill your targets. Such as bringing a VTOL to a one vs. one duel against a boastful STAG commando.
I don't usually keep my Boss like this for the whole game, but it's fun in SR2 to do the tutorial missions as a horrible freak of nature. Then just go to Image As Designed and get it changed. You DID survive a point blank bomb afterall. :P
I don't even do the DLC stuff anymore when I do a playthrough of SR3. I did them each at least once, found they add nothing to the game, and that was that. I'm not sad I bought the season pass though, but that's mostly because I love the main game so much.

I think if someone legitimately tried to buy it, they'd do it. Imagine the PR.
that would be fairly amazing

I'm pretty sure SR4 is built on an enhanced version of the SR3 version of the engine...
