So rogue legacy is good then? I've been looking at it but I have heard its a bit middling.
My biggest complaints with Rogue Legacy are the hitbox detection and mildly imprecise movement controls. It just feels too loose compared to some other platformers I've played. I've learned to play more cautiously than I might normally and assume occasionally things will happen, like that fast moving enemy will just run through my sword strike that kills it to hit me at the same time, or I should always leave room to turn around and face an enemy after jumping because it might not turn me around from a single quick tap. Basically there are plenty of times where I've been hit and felt like it was bullshit.
That said it's totally worth it to pick it up on sale and play because it's still an awesome game.
Thanks @Luchaire for Robin hood. that was literally the only game I wanted out of that bundle cause I heard it plays like Commandos (hopefully 2). Thanks!

Also between overtime work and preparing to move I failed to mention that @Zebukiel Steamed my wishlist down further with You Need a Budget. Which very shortly I will need! And also now have, thanks Zeb!
edit: This'll look great on my new rig! That's right, I've joined the land of the future/slightly outdated present!
Welcome to Best Buy. Would you like a computer that is very outdated, slightly outdated, or one that will be outdated next week?
Well I'm building it with the help of a friend, so hopefully it's fairly futureproof in terms of replacements. But I mean, the graphics card isn't top of the line....it's a bit older, but still very good and affordable.

New graphics card get! My old one wasn't bad, but my co-worker had a better one and sold it to me for almost nothing. And it's so quiet, which I love. Can't wait to take it for a test spin tonight.

Man, Bleed really is a great action game; it scratches that itch for a fast-paced thing to play short bursts quite nicely. Even when I'm sucking at it I'm having loads of fun. Look to Luchaire's avi and bow down to the adorable dynamo that is Wryn.

Quoted for truth. I think the best part of the game was the part where (don't look if you haven't played the last two levels)
you hitch a ride into the stomach of a dragon inside a hollowed-out apple, then soon after a boss fight with its heart, you go through Megaman-style boss refights...but with two of each boss. The final boss was a great duel too.
Am I allowed to say La Mulana is more difficult than Demon's/Dark Souls?
It's definitely more cryptic.
That's what I was going to say. Definitely more confusing puzzles and weird things that I would never get without a gamefaqs guide on my second monitor.
Thanks so much, @Luchaire for Brutal Legend. I was just showing off its trailers recently and wanting to play it some time with friends. Now that day can be tomorrow!
There is an interesting Kickstarter going on right now for a new Megaman-like game lead by Keiji Inafune called Mighty No. 9. Funding goal is 900 000$ and it has reached almost 300 000$ in under a day.
It's coming to Steam as well!
edit: apparently it's against the rules to link it but you can google it
Megaman-like is quite the undestatement by the sound of it.
Inafune is pretty much flipping off every head honcho over at Capcom HQ as vividly as he can.
Here's hoping it sells like hotcakes so they can just give him back his creation and finally get Megaman Legends 3 back on track.
Hearing it's coming to steam has gotten me all sorts of excite.

So @DaringDirk throws me Dragon's Lair and Cargo Commander and then decides it's ok for me to shit and piss my pants simultaneously with Scratches. Thanks so much, what a wonderful 28th birthday!
Ok first of all, fuck Gearbox. Aliens: Colonial Marines is eight kinds of fucked. I wanted to like it, because if there is one thing I love on Krom's green earth, it's running terrified from a Xenomorph, pumping round after round from my weapon in a desperate, panicked attempt to kill it before it eats my face. I can't get enough of that shit.
Ever since I saw this gif when the game was released, I just can't take Aliens: Colonial Marines seriously.

I just beat the main game of Hard Reset. I forgot that I had the DLC, so the game basically jumps right into it without credits or anything. It took me a few minutes to realize that it actually was the DLC, as it seemed like I had just fought some final battle, followed by a lengthy series of cutscenes. Anyway, felt good to finish off the base game. The story is a bunch of nonsense and has some unintentionally hilarious dialogue.
Example:
Anyway, not sure if I'll continue on with the DLC right away. The game is just a fun old school FPS.
A few months ago I had a contest to celebrate my college graduation. Since then, I had a long and honestly disappointing summer. I was still in my student worker job, applying everywhere I could, always getting the interview but never the offer. 3 weeks ago, that changed. My hard work as a student worker paid off, and I've been hired on full time. Of course, this means a giveaway to celebrate! I'd love to do a contest, but oddly enough working a real schedule means I don't have a lot of free time, so a giveaway will have to suffice. I wish I could do more, but it's one of those "ivory tower" jobs, so I don't get paid a whole lot, but I've got dem benefits.
Giveaway starts Thursday night and runs for exactly 4 days (Labor Day). I couldn't find a more appropriate game. I basically do "Papers, Please" all day, except not in a fictional Eastern Bloc country, and I deal with books rather than people. Enjoy.

Thanks @Luchaire! Going to give this a try later in tn the weekend.
I'd say it has more in common with Dark Souls than it does Metroid or Castlevania, absolutely.
