    Someone should make

    like

    superhero parks and rec

    set in some small place

all the superheroes are just so nice and happy and live nice happy lives

people fall in love and stay in love

    villains are defeated and redeemed

    that would be cool

Non-ending storytelling just doesn't work this way

    I wish it did!

I have a podcast about Power Rangers:Teenagers With Attitude | TWA Facebook Group

    I really think it can

you just need to see things as opportunities

when someone is happily married that means the trials and tribulations of parentage etc

    Ron Swanson vs. The Government

While that could work in an Image or a Dark Horse there is no way it would work in DC/Marvel, sadly.

The closest I can think of to Parks and Rec in mainstream superheroes is the classic Giffen/Demattias JLI run

Nah because one writer will come in and break up the family or make Reed distant again and then another will have them happy and then another will break them up again and etc.

well you wouldn't need to do it with marvel and dc characters

    well actually no

plenty of DC characters could work like that

Ray Palmer and Jean Loring are basically made for that

Explain what version of Parks & Rec you're watching where Jean-Ralphio and his family or Marcia Langman are redeemed.

    well

    jean-ralphio is a joke character

  • SimBenSimBen Hodor? Hodor Hodor.Registered User regular
    or Tammy 2

anyway I am not saying it would be successful

or that anyone else would like it

    but I sure would!

Until a writer comes along and wants to do Identity Crisis

The fact that all of the characters are in the same giant toolbox that the writer has to share with dozens of others makes it nigh impossible

Even something like X-Factor had to tie into big events and have sidetracks

Oh no! It turns out all the villains that have been redeemed and living happy lives in town were actually brainwashed!

    Oh yeah forgot about him!

Basically Jean-Ralphio is the only redeemable character.

Well so's Andy because he was sort of a villain in season 1.

I wouldn't call season one Andy a villain

He was just kinda selfish and kinda dumb

I wouldn't even call Jean-Ralphio a villain because he doesn't really set-out to hurt anyone.

    He's just a big ol' man-child.

we don't talk about season 1

When Jean-Ralphio is possibly going too far and someone asks him to stop, he immediately understands & stops.

    That isn't a villain.

    Season one is fine

  • SolarSolar Registered User regular
    It's a decent show

but it's nowhere near as good as season two onwards and it doesn't have the same core tone to it

I really liked Mark as a straight man and was sad when he left

but now Ben is a 10,000 times better straight man.

I tend to like the first seasons that others don't, and never really see the problems with them

Parks and Rec, The Office, Babylon 5, most animated shows

    Oh for FUCKS SAKE.

Do NOT go to Comic Book Resources; they have a bigass Agents of SHIELD spoiler right on the front page.

I expected more from them, honestly.

Looks like She-Hulk may have a new costume
    detail.jpg
It is a variant so it may not be an actual new look but I dig it. They are basically gym clothes and Jen is exactly the type of lady to go superheroing in her gym duds.

Considering her last two costumes have been the FF uniform which is really bland and a purple and white leotard it is an improvement at any rate.

I mean one of the leads is an often suicidal man who is unable do die.
