Like Best Deception vs. a Cold Blooded/Judas sub-Award (or some such)
Also betrayal seems a bit ... misleading? For what's seemingly being nominated at least. Since it's people playing to their win conditions . Now there are a few games where I can see people actually "Betraying" like in a game like Edcrabs or some such (where they have options).
Guess I'm saying there is more fuel for sub-awards if people wanted them. I knew people in the past were looking for some (spoit)
I'd be in favor of splitting up best betrayal since I could see how you have two different categories there. Deception, where some did what I did as thrall net head, by finding a way to get "confirmed" and then carefully playing the village against each other to quickly reduce their numbers. Actually backstabbing, where a betrayal wasn't need to cement a win or the betrayal was unintentional.
The music begins to play again, and once again a man in a tuxedo walks to the podium from behind the curtain. The man looks like he is ready to talk, but the music keeps playing. Clearly growing impatient, he frantically makes the 'cut' motion into the orchestra pit, but the conductor is too distracted. The man slumps over the podium as he gives in and waits until the music stops on its own.
Twenty minutes later, the music finally stops. The man reaches inside his coat pocket for the envelope. Sadly, he only finds a the tuxedo rental receipt as he realizes he left the envelope in the washroom. He swears to himself and then realizes that his mic was on and the entire crowd heard his curse. Children begin to cry. The man runs off stage, his face bright red.
Ten minutes later the man re-emerges from the curtain, now soaked from head to toe. His left sleeve is ripped and bow tie is untied. In his hand he holds a sopping wet envelope. He rips open the envelope and finally begins:
"*Ahem*"
"The following are tonight's winners:
Grunt's Ghosts wins best betrayal!
Iron Weasel and Mikey CTS win best duo!"

Haunting for best Mechanic. Like honestly, I want this mechanic to become almost standard, I like it that much.
Batman: The Animated Phalla stands out for me despite a very crowded field in the Best Mini category. To me it was crazy enough to be entertaining but still grounded enough to be playable as a game. And it had the least deserved village victory EVER in the year of the mafia so that's got to count for something eh?
