[Some Lady (16:44:30) ] order is cancel in [order writing software] already

[Some Lady (16:44:37) ] what

So my lady applied for a job in Mid-April, applications closed the last day at April. As of now, we haven't heard anything back, which my lady assumes the worst. However, it being a university posting at the campus rec, and school ended the 7th, with graduations going through the 10th, I figure it may take some time to hear back this week or the next week.
Anybody care to corroborate my unfounded beliefs, or have any suggestions on what to do after?

It's possible that she might end up hearing back, but since it's been so long I'd probably tell her to assume she did not get the position. If she does hear back, that's a great surprise, and if not she's already moved on. Good luck to her!
I really do wish companies would give the courtesy of letting candidates know if they're not being moved to the next round, especially after an interview. A form rejection for applications would also be nice, but that's probably too much to ask of HR departments. It's hard not to feel after dozens of applications with no acknowledgement that you would be better served setting your own resumes on fire
Hey, that's good DL, it's probably for the best that you're there as a positive influence. It's easy to get down when job searching, so maybe you're balancing her out.
Sorry if that came off as a bummer, I'm in a similar position to your lady and am in a bit of a funk. You probably shouldn't listen to me on this, as I'm feeling a tad bitter. She may still hear!

Well she just got her Master's and has a decent amount of experience for her age and we'd both like if we could move in together while I'm finishing up my grad degree to our own place, and work at the same university, but we both recognize that may not be an option.
It will all work out!

I wish that someway, somehow, that I could save every one of us

It is now hot enough that I can't do anything outside without starting to sweat, I'm going to have to bring an extra shirt or something to change into because I really like getting off the train a stop early and just walking that little extra distance
why would god curse us with temperatures over 70

Yeah, my work doesn't have a shower. This time of year, I'm able to bike to work and not worry about being a horrible stinky mess all day.
Before too long though, I'll have bus to work and stick my bike on the front of the bus (finding a bus with a rack, as many of them don't have one), killing almost half of my daily exercise and making my commute take longer in the process.

I wish the place I worked at had a shower, then I could even do something crazy like take a walk for a my lunch break and then go back to work without smelling like a locker

Yeah anything 70F/20C is hell itself.
*Dis' goes and looks up the temperature of where he's going next week: 115F/45C*
Why would you sweat if the temperature was over seventy.
Why would you just.
Not sweat.
Humidity.
I live in a place which is pretty much always between 60-100% humidity from June-September. That combined with temperatures over 70 and physical exertion would make a camel sweat.

Some Lady has left the conversation.
Ughhhh, my project would be so fucking boned.
It's one of the more stressful aspect of my jerb
On big lift days I usually don't eat because I'll hurl
Sure you can, just bring in a bigger crane!
Fun fact! The crane(s, it takes 2) can do it!
But blah blah padeyes, blah blah blah lifting angles, blah blah shear blah blah
i don't see how some explosives couldn't solve your problem rather than having to do fancy shmancy maths.
steam | Dokkan: 868846562
That should work.
nothing yet
I did get my new glasses in though from Warby Parker!
I poop out some photos on Instagrizzle in a bit
I'm just a dumb process engineer so all that is whoosh over my head.
But know I know the feeling. Those calculations where if something goes wrong people can get hurt or tons of money can get lost are the worst.
When our plant was starting up a few months ago it was nerve wracking waiting for status updates and trying to help them fix issues on the fly.
(posted in the fashion thread)
Yep that's about it
Except I'm super duper incapable of just sitting there and doing nothing, so of course I have to go watch
Which is awesome but nervewracking
Anybody care to corroborate my unfounded beliefs, or have any suggestions on what to do after?
Could you get us some coffee?
Cream? Cream? Cream? Yeah, 4 creams Jess.
Thanks hon.
so emotional.
And you will enjoy it
Can you calculate the angle and forces needed to flip that table?
...yes?
Goddammit brain stop it you don't have to actually do it, argh

i laughed at the idea of Idiot Son venting to reddit about @Abracadaniel
(it's not actually him. it'd be funny, though!)

I think my individual lift record is maybe 450 Tonnes?
Take that weightlifting thread.

Do you have any of the following:
Superman
Gundam
The Incredible Hulk
Yoda or any Jedi Master of that skill level
Star Trek Teleporter
Eezo from the Mass Effect trilogy
Secret Satan 2013 Wishlist
Why would you just.
Not sweat.

Nope. Going inside. Showering forever.
It's a little different if I'm actually working out or doing an activity where I feel like I earned it.
Humidity.
