Is she hinting that she wants me to help her not be alone? I've been getting mixed messages from this girl prior to this exchange. She messaged me first asking if I'm in her building today (I'm not) and then:
Me: Doing anything for the 4th?
Her: Nope
Me: Me either really - family plans canceled - though I have some potential plans doing [...]
Her: At least you won't be alone...
Is she alright to chat to and not horrific to interact with in a social situation? If so, invite her cause she could be a nice friend or whatever.
haha 'mayonnaise crew' is actually a pretty funny term
But she's white. It's funny, but she's white. Like, she can make male jokes, but not white jokes. She may not have male privilege but she has white privilege so really it's eyeroll worthy. I read her tweets. She's a reactionary troll, and not even a good one.

Leigh Alexander is a pretty well-known games journalist. She writes smart, funny pieces and is generally about as good as games journalism gets.
I don't think the body of her work is bad at all. I actually have no negative opinion on that at all.
But the position they filled was a personality based position that involves working off the cuff. A lot.
Judging from those tweets, I really do not think she is the best fit for the kind of off-the-cuff stuff this mayo crew gets into, without potentially causing further drama.
And if she was the only hat thrown in the ring we know of versus the two they picked... I would go with the two they picked and it would have absolutely nothing to do with her gender.

her whole thing smacks of sour grapes
i mean, instead of attacking the industry at large for being so gender and race-biased let's attack GB specifically about a specific hire because GB are misogynistic shitlords, or something
yeah, that's totally the reason i did not get the job
not because someone who reacts in that way would be awful to work with
this of course assumes that my theory is correct and she did want that job at GB
We don't actually know her hat was thrown into the ring. So far the only citation for that is a tweet you can read eight different ways and 'I think I heard'.

The real issue is that CBSi policy made them openly post the job openings, so people applied and thought they had a chance.
And as someone who loves GB, no one goes there for the writing, mainly because they don't really have much of it. Their whole thing is video and the podcast.

Yep. You can't go on diatribes about white privilege when you get sunburned on a cloudy day in January and what else is mayonnaise crew other than a joke refferring to their racial makeup? I'm all for activism, but be good at it. I've read/watched GB. Even if she was an amazing writer with keen insight, she doesn't fit the format. I can name some girls that would! Ash from Hey Ash, Aisha Tyler come to mind pretty damn quickly. But I think they kinda have their own thing going on.

Yeah, I would love to see either of those two in the mix. They are awesome and could roll with the conversation and add to it in an awesome fashion.

Is it as bad as Slough? Cause I spent perhaps an hour in Slough and that was pretty depressing.

There is so much wrong with this statement it causes me physical pain.
I'll just say they do use 3D printers to make investment castings for metals, it's how they rapid prototype a bunch of metals and such.
