Fifa bestowing honours on incoming/outgoing VPs at the moment.

    Bit awkward.

Ali appeals to the consciences of delegates prior to the votes. Blatter appeals for more hand shaking, man loves a hand shake.

The World Cup is the goose of the golden eggs. We must protect that. We also have the obligation not only to fight against corruption.

Protect the money machine. Also I guess fight corruption but seriously don't forget about dem golden eggs.

German newsticker posted a picture of a newspaper article in 1994 where Blatter said "23 years at FIFA are enough" and that he won't seek the FIFA presidency when Joao Havelange resigns in 1998.

So much for "I see my time at FIFA as pretty short and want to stay longer".

I remember The Bugle podcast mentioning that Blatter got people to vote for him last time on the promise that this would be his last term.

Here's hoping that he keeps his promise accidentally.

Apparently the man who is now acting as executive vp? Whatever role Webb had before his arrest, has stated he will step down if Blatter is reflected.

I'm hoping the Swiss authorities are standing off stage ready to arrest Blatter if he wins, but I know that won't happen

And apparently they have an archaic voting mechanism. 2 voting booths and the fill out sheets of paper.

Argh - this will take hours.
