I really need to get around to playing Borderlands 2, I got it as a gift during the sale but want to play it co-op. If anyone feels like starting a fresh game let me know.
I now have 1 and 2 GOTY both of them, and have never touched them beyond setting them up in the options menu. I feel a bit silly about that.
Are they best played Co-Op?
They are best as Co-Op. Also Tiny Tina's Assault on Dragon Keep is the best DLC.

I'm not sure if this is new on Enhanced Steam, but if you click on the "Downloadable content for this game" and it takes you to the page that lists the DLC, it will also tell you what that DLC contains. For an example, if they are full expansion content, are just cosmetic, have new items, maps, etc.
I don't remember it being there before in Enhanced Steam, but I really could have missed it. And I'm mentioning this mainly for all the folks who commonly ask which DLC they should get and which to leave behind and thought this might help.
Edit: as an example, viewing this page with Enhanced Steam shows that most of the DLC (96% of it, really) is multiplayer content, cosmetic content or "pay to unlock" content.

There was one major thing about Dawnguard that utterly confused me the way it was handled. Don't click if you don't want spoiler.
When you wake up Serana for the first time, after being told about a dangerous thing the vampires were seeking, you also see that she has an Elder Scroll on her back and she wants you to escort her back to her father's castle, otherwise known as the abode of the most dangerous vampires in Skyrim.
Want to know what my first reaction was upon hearing that a vampire wanted me to hand-deliver her and a weapon of mythic proportion to her evil vampire daddy? I tried to kill her. Repeatedly. And I couldn't because she was an immortal quest NPC and I had no options to remove that protection through dialogue. If there was any sort of logic in this addon then the Dawnguard side would have allowed me to destroy her and the scroll because why the hell would I, a vampire hunter, let her go?
I had the exact same reaction and it made me really hate that DLC. Fortunately i did not buy the DLC i just did not realize it was installed for free on my system. I actually deleted my files to i could remove it mainly because of that incident

@Kalnaur@Jeix - I'm up for some early level BL2 some time although you don't have to wait for me since I have random gaming availability. I've played through it once before on PS3 but I started a character with @iolo to try out some of the DLC.
I pretty much played it all solo the first time so co-op isn't necessary but the co-op works really well so long as you are all at similar levels.

Yeah, I love lowbie stuff. There's much more potential to just find a weapon that takes you from getting-by-circle-strafing-this-skag to behold-I-am-death-visited-upon-you-village-of-bandits!
@Ed Gruberman, that Salvador I ran with you through Midge-Mong was the perfect level to jump in with @Berylline, @SmokeStacks and @Karrde1842 for like half an hour of mayhem the other night (I'd love to play with you guys again, although I'll be out of town this weekend so I'll probably have to wait for you to catch up to my next lowest level character.) Real life often precludes my playing these days, but when the stars align I'm always happy to be able to jump into a game.

I don't know if I could watch live, but I'd definitely watch an archive. I love pinball, but I desperately need to know when/how/why to nudge the table. I suspect you're somebody who does that to great effect.

I like the G602 a lot. The side buttons feel nicer and clickier than the G700s, and it's similar in size. But my favorite part is that it takes AAs instead of proprietary rechargeables. I put in a pair of cheap IKEA alkalines like 6 months ago and they haven't died yet. That's some sort of black magic sorcery bullshit right there.

I have an M510 and it's a fine mouse, probably the least expensive you can get with a tilty scroll wheel, a feature that Logitech leaves off of far too many of its mice.
Map "strafe left" and "strafe right" to the left and right tilts on the scroll wheel and "forward" to the thumb button and it is the perfect MMO mouse.

I'm still using a Logitech MX518. A few months ago the mouse wheel stopped scrolling properly and I was afraid I'd have to replace it. I contacted Logitech's support about it and they wanted me to check to make sure it was plugged in or something to that effect. A few days later the wheel mysteriously started working again. Weird.
Apparently the G400 is the new version of the MX518, so I'll be ready to buy that one when the wheel inevitably craps out for good.
I've still got an M310 kicking about, but I found it far, far too picky about which surfaces it would work on. The Mazer II works on just about anything, which is something I kind of need.
EDIT: I did have an MX518 some years back. I think that was the last wired mouse I had. Excellent mouse.
I'm kind of over wireless peripherals. My wireless mouse died a couple years ago and I replaced it with a generic Dell 2 button with scroll wheel mouse. So much better. Now I just need the wireless keyboard to go and I can replace it with whatever I have laying around (may just be an old iMac keyboard, but that'd be fine) and then I'll never worry about losing connection or dying batteries again.

Pretty, but damn they look uncomfortable as hell. I'm still shopping for just the right mouse, but I don't know if I'll ever find "the one." Currently looking at some of the ergonomic vertical ones... might be worth trying out. Kind of annoying, really. I have very narrow but long hands and just can't find a mouse that fits right. "Gaming" mice especially tend to be really fat/wide and they hurt to use.
I use a Steelseries Sensei. It's a good balance of function and looks. It doesn't have as many buttons as most "Gamer" oriented mouses go, but it has enough. Has a pretty clean and simple look and the buttons are unobtrusive. Can be programmed with all sorts of DPI settings I don't really mess with. Can create profiles for certain uses. Has programmable LED lights that I promptly turned off because I find it pretty distracting. Has buttons on the far right and inner right side so good for lefties and righties. A bit on the expensive side right now but caught mine on sale so it wasn't a big hit.

I picked the wrong starting deck and basically can't beat Avecyn unless I get super lucky and she gets mana screwed. There is no other option for me to switch decks and I don't have the cards to make a new one.
In the old games you unlocked decks and could swap out if your current deck wasn't up the challenge or you just don't like it. There is no option for that here, at least not in the first couple hours I've played.
What there is now, is a cash shop pushing packs of premium cards that you can't unlock any other way.
They basically turned a fun simplified Magic game into a shitty copy of MTG:Online with somehow an even worse UI.
I have Anker's 8200DPI gaming mouse. It's pretty good, but I don't like that it's software doesn't count the side buttons as mouse buttons, it just maps them to the keyboard. It's a pain in the ass when configuring controls for a game, but otherwise the mouse is great.
Anyone has any thoughts or opinions on East India Company? It's on sale on Humble Store, and it kind of seems like a more serious "Pirates!" with some spreadsheet simulatoring from Paradox?
I think the only mouse I've liked with more then the usual 3 button scheme is the logitech M500 I'm using now a days.

MX518 wired mouse and a Logitech G710+ keyboard.
I will be sad when it finally kicks the bucket. That should be a while though. It's only a few years old. I bought it when my MX510 died after being around a ridiculously long time. When I got my MX518 they had just stopped making them. And yeah, when it goes I'll probably replace it with whatever Logitech mouse is going at the moment. I like the keyboard a lot too. Ugh I was worried they'd start trying to go the route of selling cards in those games. They're really not the place for that. The system isn't good enough to justify it. What they were as fine even with the more limiting deck creation. If they want to sell the cards primarily then they shouldn't be selling the game. Go the Hearthstone route with a $$ option for faster card acquisition and an in game currency route that's slow and steady.
