So, is any Majora LE stuff going to be in stores or should I ebay?
I hit up ebay. I regret nothing.
You might have to eBay. I went to GameStop and Best Buy trying to pre-order in stores and neither of them are taking preorders for both limited editions of the console or of the game itself. Then again, maybe Nintendo will actually print more to fit the demand. It could happen, right?
I'm on something like my fifth attempt to get Lara's lvl3 Deku Stick weapon, and I still haven't figured out a way to fight effectively with it.
On top of having a crappy weapon, I have to break off whatever I'm doing to escort the cucco. If I don't, I get thrashed by a pissed-off gold cucco. If I do, Volga has a habit of getting thrashed by half a dozen tough enemies before I can reach him to bail him out.
The Deku Stick is very nearly my least favorite weapon (second only to Agitha's parasol). When I'm forced to use it, I generally spam either YYYYX (the deku leaf combo) or YYYYYY (the exploding ice shards). The leaf combo is a better all-purpose move, though you should try to cancel out of the "floating" part. The exploding ice combo seems to do more damage, but has a nasty pause, which leaves you open to attack. Sometimes I use it against single targets, but only when I'm sure there's time to pull it off. The YYYX combo would be good if it ever actually hit anything, and YYX (the slingshot) should be avoided at all costs. The weak-point move seems pretty good, at least.
The slingshot is in fact not a complete pile of crap.
As long as there is a wide open area in front of you. Like, 90% of the damage is the explosion at the end, so if the enemies aren't carried forward into it...
Of course, compared to basically every other weapon, yeah, it's kind of bad. Like, Lana's book is so much better at that whole "giant sweeping shot forward" thing, with the three walls. That you then dodge-cancel so you kick them at the end. KABOOM.

I know that Lana's spear received a buff in one of the patches, so it might be worth reexperimenting with moves.
If you have a second controller, there's always the trick of stashing the forced choice somewhere hidden then using overlevelled monster to rampage through the level.
I don't know if there's a great choice on that map for where to stick her.
Good advice.
I sprinted Lana down to the south-west base (which never even got touched in all my previous attempts), then sent Link out with the Power Gloves. Easy win, I'll probably use this trick again with Agitha. Maybe Zelda's Baton level as well, I'm not enjoying that much, either.

Good lord, this is it after it's been buffed? What was it like before?
PS. Why why why aren't the Power Gloves modelled on the actual Nintendo Power Glove? It's so bad.

There, got the last two weapons from Master Quest - Cia's lvl 3 and Lana's "8-bit Spell book", aka the Bible (but we can't call it that because... religion!) Random tangent - they really were kind of half-assed about the religious censorship on the first two games. Crosses and Bibles were ok, but that Angel Statue? Yeah, we better call that a trophy! :P
Anyways, I played some more of the Twilight Princess maps. Holy crap are those hard. I'm pretty sure most of these are aimed at lvl 100+. I was getting hit for like 6 hearts at a time in some of them. Luckily you can still advance a decent amount with B ranks :P And the double material drops are sooooo nice.
Got all weapons, costumes, and skulltulas on the Adventure and Master Quest maps. I don't think I'll ever bother with 100%-ing heart containers/pieces. The Twilight map is definitely meant for well equipped high level warriors, everything hits like a truck, even on low level missions.
I hate the "balanced attacked" challenge missions. Where you have to hit 2-3 enemies simultaneously or they'll heal each other. I get that it's trying to "teach" you how to get multiple officers in one special attack, but it's tedious. On the other hand, the "divisive plan" challenges are awesome for farming character materials. You fight dark versions of named warriors, and as you damage them they split into two weaker versions. They keep doubling as you damage them and they all drop materials. Got 14 Zant's gems in one run.

Balanced attack somewhat depends on the character too. Impa's naginata is hilariously good at it for instance.
I want that Majora's Mask N3DS so badly (but not enough to pay premium to a scalper). I've been refreshing Best Buy and Gamestop every half hour or so hoping that those cancelled preorders mean that it'll briefly come back into stock.
On the off chance that I do secure one, does anyone know of a good, very low-bulk case I could use for it? My old 3DS is very visibly worn from being in my pocket all the time, and I'd like to treat my new one better

I think Nintendo announced that they'll be selling them directly from their website "soon"? Don't quote me on that, but I have a feeling they'll keep producing more of those if that's the case. Don't cave to those hawks on the eBays.

Yeah but those missions seem to intentionally make these captains hard to herd, especially when you have to do 3 at once. Third one always seems to be shy to join the party.

There, 100% done w/ Adventure Mode (at least the original one). Trying to play some Twilight Princess map, but I may have to just revert back to the Master Quest. My guys need more levels for that to not be a serious hassle.

Hold dodge to run is a complete game-changer for Hyrule Warriors. No wonder timed stuff, and keeping away from giant bosses in kill X enemies stages were so difficult. -_-
It looks like Target put the Majora's Mask N3DSXL up for pre-order in the middle of the night (2:30 am Central time zone, according to the in-stock emails people got) and it sold out almost instantly.
I didn't know you could auto-pick materials by pressing the X button when creating potions at the apothecary. Automatically creates the potion with the materials you have the most of.
Okay, so I'm super tempted to pick up that $107 Hardcover Guide package from Amazon just to get the damn Ocarina of Time 3D guide, as its the only one I don't own.
The only problem is that, as mentioned, I already own all the other guides...I'd have to go through the hassle of listing them on eBay or Amazon to resell, as there's no real point in keeping them otherwise.
8 levels until my Ganon is a fully powered 150 badass. Thinking I'll stick to the bottom left "Rack Up Your KO Count" level on Master Quest. Need those Agorok drops for Volga.
Can't wait for MM DLC to drop.
Anyone else notice Twili Midna at 150 has more strength than 150 Link?
Link was my first 150. Oddly enough, Ganon was my first to get a 450 weapon. (Bless you legendary).
My wife has gotten Twili Midna up to 135, I believe. She just got a 420 with the Legendary skill on it. So now she is grinding that 25k away. I assume she'll hit 150 soon doing that.
Zelda, Impa, and Darunia are 120's, I think.
Sadly, Volga is only at 83. Which is weird given how much I love his moveset. I swear I use him more than I clearly do.
Anyone else notice that activating magic mode when the Giant Boss diminish gauge shows up causes a weird slowmo on the boss giving you more time to kill it?
On a related note, something I didn't realize until just recently is that when you pop Focus Spirit and fire off your special, it exposes weak points.... including giant boss weak points (except for The Imprisoned, because that would make the fight almost tolerable, and we can't have that). It can be a huge timesaver.

Fortunately, any reasonably wide-angle regular special attack will nuke The Imprisoned's toes and expose his weak point anyhow.
My favorite musical instrument is the air-raid siren.

Several heavy attacks can just tear his toes clean off too. I'm fond of the naginata's firewall - place it right and it takes six toes... plus the other two when he walks towards you (or you can place a second wall, or just smack em, it really doesn't matter).

Already had that thought. Figured one of her arrow endings or specials would work. Nope nope nope.

I was really hoping for a Philly date to spring up there sometime but I haven't seen one. I loved the Second Quest show, it was 100% joy.

Lol, what's up with the obnoxiously loud Tal Tal Heights theme on all the Great Fairy scenes? I guess his audio broke or something :P
