Thursday at the Westin gone in the middle of my reservation, but still got Fri, Sat, and Sun

Same, was about to submit for the westin and was told rooms were gone when I submitted. Ending up getting th-mon at the seaport instead.

I super lucked out this year, Thursday through Monday morning at the Westin, 1 3-day badge. Almost thought about getting an extra badge for a friend or resale, but didn't want to go back and miss out on it.

Got Thu-Mon at the Westin. Only 1-bed since the 2-beds were sold out, but still super-excited to be so close.

Anyone know the policy on having extra people in on the floor? Or if that would be desirable were I to offer it?

the policy is that the occupancy that you picked is the occupancy you should have. If you picked single occupancy, that's one person. Plenty of people lie, but that doesn't mean it's not breaking hotel policy.

often hotels will let you increase the occupancy with a small charge per person per night (like $20), but there's a limit to how many they will allow and it's at their discretion.

I managed to get the Seaport, I've never been able to get one of the close three before, so I am super excited for that. I've heard good things about the Seaport.

I got the Intercontinental Fri-Sun...I'm going to wait for the fervor to die down to change it to monday...maybe...

EDIT: Somehow was able to change my reservation to Thurs-Mon with 2 mouse clicks. We'll see how that holds up.

Got the Hilton Boston Downtown. Same one as I got last year. Really nice a mile from the con.

I bet the single bed Weston rooms are 2 persons due to fire code, as that's also what it says for maximum occupancy on their official website. I don't think you can pay for more people in that case. Consider that attempting to do so against fire code might lead staff to check your room a bit closer...

Uuuuuuugh, I had Westin all taken care of (everything available) but clicked 'Saturday' as my check-out date when I thought it was the last night I was staying there. I've done 3 times now for East and once for Prime and somehow goofed it up

So now I have Thurs and Fri night at Westin but not Saturday. I think I'll keep an eye on the site and hope that someone drops a Sat. night so I can get the full stay. I have one-bed at the Renaissance if need be as a backup.

With the sub-title of hotel, go to priceline express deal and search Boston, the first one will be a 4 star in boston common for 106. it is the revere but for 106 instead of 209. Save over hundred dollars a night.

Called up Westin Waterfront because I'm an idiot and my luck held out. They can put up to 4 in a room. So call and be honest.

you can usually get away with having more people in the room with no issue, but they will not give you more room cards then number of occupants you selected.

Yeah, I think I'll be doing roomshare this year. I missed out on 3 day passes, as per usual. And I can't swing a hotel by myself, not anymore.

That's actually not entirely true. Last year we ended up with 5 cards but I only had 2 peoples name on the room.

OnPeak transfers your reservation to the hotel a few weeks prior to the event. OnPeak will probably never charge your card. Once the room is transferred, some hotels put a hold for the first night's stay until you check in.

Ah cool. Just not actually sure if we can make it this year, so I'm trying to gauge my risks.

Staying at the Omni Parker again this year. Stayed there last year and it was ok. Didn't like the high internet charge, but it was only 1.5 miles away, connected via the shuttle, and its in a place where there are more restaurants and other stuff to do during down times.

got an error on my reservation page and onpeak said I'm SOL for the hotel...really not a happy customer now -_-

If you keep an eye on onpeak up through the con, hotels do become available again with cancellations. This is how I got my seaport and westin reservations last year. Don't give up hope!

Got in early, got Westin, booked one bed and Friday - Sunday by mistake. I need Thursday too and was hoping for two beds. D'oh! This is why 3PM (15 minutes before I had to rush to work) was a terrible time today!

Yes, you can go back into the OnPeak site and cancel. There is no penalty for cancellation prior to 72 hours of the event so I would recommend reserving the other hotel first before cancelling your first reservation so you don't get shut out by mistake.

The hotels weren't as rough to book this year compared to last year, but I wish there was a way to implement a system to "hold" your room for 5 minutes while you put your credit card info in (like they do with concert tickets). It is quite frustrating to get everything entered just to get the error message because it sold out from under you. Alas! Perhaps next year.

It most certainly is. I was there last year and loved it. Lucked out and got it again this year. I also found that their... I don't even know what her title was, but she basically gave a friend and I a verbal tour of Boston/where to go for food/drinks, made reservations for us, etc. In any case, she was absurdly helpful as well. It's the little things.
