That said, I wouldn't be surprised if the Astros aren't the only team doing this--I'm more surprised that they were this blatant and didn't get caught before, honestly. But it seems pretty difficult to prevent teams from doing things like this in an age of near-invisible cameras, smartwatches, and so on. MLB should probably just let the battery have earpieces or some other secure electronic communication system so they don't have to use signs. Maybe have their own secure system and have the umps distribute it at first pitch and take it away after the game.
