I'm always going to be pissed about Blue is the Warmest Color being given an NC17. I'm glad it managed financial and critical success (the latter major at that) despite that because damn, it deserved it.

I was an even bigger wuss as a child than I am now and Jurassic Park should have scared the shit out of me but luckily I was too enraptured by DINOSAURS YO to notice it being frightening

You're lucky, I had nightmares about raptors for years after I watched that movie.

I've had plenty of raptor related nightmares, but the movie itself never scared me. I think my mom took my brothers and I to see it, like, 3 or 4 times.

Seriously, that movie blew us the fuck away!

Isn't the standards for being rated PG-13 super lax? Basically anything goes as long as there isn't any nudity or too too much blood?

Eh, doesn't really bother me since I don't have any seeds holding me back.

Using the word 'fuck' more than a certain number of times, or using swear words in a sexual way (I think) is enough to get an R rating

I think you can also show a butt and still get a PG-13 but I'm not totally sure

Outside of video games I like Australia's ratings. G for general, PG for parental guidance for those under 15, M for recommended mature 15 and over, MA for restricted to 15 and over tho I think you can still go if you're with a parent, and then R18 for restricted to over 18. Basically our R is for extremely violent movies or movies with graphic sex.

I think matrix got an M? mad max is MA. I think an R would be something like Nymphomaniac or something

You can say fuck once in a pg-13 movie. It is called the fuck allowance.

Humor can be dissected as a frog can, but dies in the process.

Like, regardless of what I thought about this, I would still totally go see a Furiosa film

All accounts point to you being in luck!

    http://www.theqandapodcast.com/2015/05/mad-max-fury-road-george-miller-q.html
We’ve got one screenplay [for the second film] and a novella [for the third]. It happened because with the delays [on 'Fury Road'], and writing all the backstories, they just expanded. [The second one] is called ‘The Wasteland.’ ‘Mad Max: The Wasteland.’

What was it called before "The Wasteland"?

    Mad Max: Furiosa

    http://twitchfilm.com/2010/07/george-miller-working-on-not-one-but-two-new-mad-max-films.html
Twitch has just learned that George Miller is working on not one but TWO new Mad Max films, the duo slated to be shot back to back. The title already known to the public is Mad Max: Fury Road and word is that Fury Road will be followed immediately by Mad Max: Furiosa. The two films will reportedly be shot back to back for rapid release.

It lived, it died, it lives again.

That link says 2010 and mentions Fury Road hasn't even been shot yet

Yes, the plan was to shoot Fury Road and Furiosa back to back, so Furiosa was conceived along with Fury Road. However, they ran into a lot of problems and were only able to shoot Fury Road. Now that Fury Road is out, they're planning to make the Furiosa film.
    That

Isn't what that says at all

In fact Miller said the sequel is now The Wasteland, not Furiosa

Like I said before, chances are Fury Road and Furiosa ended up being made into one movie judging from how huge of a part Furiosa ended up being

I was doing a thing with the "I live, I die, I live again" and linking it to the plan to make Furiosa, the project being shelved, and now being brought back in some other form as a sequel. Awww, forget it.

My first R-rated film is likely Terminator 2 at the young age of 5.

    I handled it pretty well.

Jurassic Park though? I pissed myself in terror when I saw that in the theaters.

Terminator 2 did have tie in toys. In fact, a lot of 80's R rated action films had toy tie ins. Rambo, Robocop, and Aliens all had toys. Rambo and Robocop were even made into cartoons.

You know why I love this movie? My mom, a 70 years old woman with near crippling arthritis, wants to learn how to drive a motorcycle after watching this movie. This movie has something for everybody to day dream about.

That seems bananas considering the vibrancy of the colours in the film, then I read this
We spent a lot of time in DI (digital intermediate), and we had a very fine colorist, Eric Whipp. One thing I’ve noticed is that the default position for everyone is to de-saturate post-apocalyptic movies. There’s only two ways to go, make them black and white — the best version of this movie is black and white, but people reserve that for art movies now. The other version is to really go all-out on the color. The usual teal and orange thing? That’s all the colors we had to work with. The desert’s orange and the sky is teal, and we either could de-saturate it, or crank it up, to differentiate the movie. Plus, it can get really tiring watching this dull, de-saturated color, unless you go all the way out and make it black and white.

and then saw a fan made black and white trailer, the warboys looked like ghosts, it could be cool

I'd be interested in seeing the black and white cut and I agree with George Miller

It was weird to see everyone shit all over teal/orange palettes for years and then suddenly lose their shit for Fury Road's colors (saying it was the best use of color in years and other such statements) when it was exactly that

If I go by my married initials, I am Fist Hardmeat. If I go by my maiden initials, I am Fist Hardcheese. Lot of hard food up in here.

Also, I saw Age of Ultron last night. I enjoyed it as much as the first Avengers, but I feel like we could have used less of
Hawkeye's family. It felt like they were crammed in there to make him seem more important. I would've been fine if it were just the house he grew up in or it were just some abandoned house. Also could've used less of Black Widow's motorcycle banter at pedestrians.

    I loved the "language!" gag.

Oh another thing about Tomorrowland I was thinking about

I never expected to see this certain gross anime trope be adapted for American cinema
The "oh she just LOOKS LIKE an 11 year-old girl, she's actually a robot that has been around for like, way way longer

so it's okay that she has romance-tinged scenes with a 54 year-old man"

Something feels A LITTLE OFF about that and it is kinda icky
