Their goal for Incarnations is to have around 27. Not including the guest characters.
And while that does seem a bit crazy, if they actually end up making that many, that game will be replayable as HELL. Like, it's a 30 hour rpg, I could easily see myself beating that without ever using half the cast, then restarting the game just to mess around with the rest.

The Orcs Must Die games were just super stressful to me for some reason.
"A new take on the epic fantasy genre... Darkly comic, relatable characters... twisted storyline."
"Readers who prefer tension and romance, Maledictions: The Offering, delivers... As serious YA fiction, I’ll give it five stars out of five. As a novel? Four and a half." - Liz Ellor My new novel: Maledictions: The Offering. Now in Paperback!
And again, crowd funded games always blow up in the last couple days. They are at 46% of their goal, growing steadily every day, and I could totally see them getting to the goal at the end
There are two short lines in The Odyssey that describe Athena as arranging favorable winds for Odysseus or his son, but it is the equivalent of her starting the car for them. She only gets away with doing it without Poseidon noticing or interfering because she is essentially sneaking Poseidon's enemies over the ocean while Poseidon is distracted by a crazy party. Water/air control is not something Athena is known for, and it really has almost nothing to do with the primary types of assistance she provides in the story or all of mythology for that matter. /pedantry
Makes sense she'd be the one who fucks with the weather to get him home
That just seems like a really weird thing to hate a game over?
I don't hate the game. I dislike what it does with mythology. Big difference. Have you ever loved a game but didn't like its characters or story? Being able to have nuanced opinions without needing to absolutely love or absolutely hate everything is great.
Athena being Odysseus's deity really has nothing to do with it. What if Hephaestus was Odysseus's deity? Does Haphaestus now control the ocean and weather just because one of his worshippers is on a boat?
It's mischaracterization of Athena, not only because it puts her in a Poseidon role that is not a natural fit for her, but because it misrepresents how she ACTUALLY helped Odysseus and his family in that story, which had 99% to do with diplomacy and less than 1% to do with wind control.

A turtle is exactly .533 repeating percent of a frog.
Or 8/15.
A fraction of a frog, you could say.
Why I fear the ocean.

Except somehow with an even worse title.
