But I've never really considered Super-Sentai/MMPR to be superheroes, and that's on me but I really don't. And anytime they are brought up I may as well be reading French, because my interest is shot.

Listing what a power ranger can and can't do really does make a case for being a super hero or not.
Also when someone says "hey, I feel what you are saying to me is shitty and it hurts" maybe don't respond by telling them "no those feelings are invalid you are just being too defensive".
Just say "okay guys well I can appreciate that you might feel that this is off topic, but actually we've tried this as it's own thread before and it's died. We do really want to talk about it though, so if it's cool then we're going to keep the topic here"
