Three of my professors this semester have accents and I mostly don't have a problem understanding them but they definitely have trouble sometimes expressing themselves sometimes and it's a huge pain overhearing teenagers bitching about it.
I hate these kids.
Also I'm working a temp position that ends tomorrow at the campus bookstore and like 80% of the kids who come in had their books ordered by their parents. Like, what, how are you going to survive outside of your mom's womb you lazy buttheads.
you still doing comp sci?
Oh yeah, I haven't changed away from that thank God. I still find it interesting but I have major analysis paralysis and can't pick something to focus on. Like I spent a week checking out Rust, which I really like, but then I was like, I can't use this for anything right now, try something else. And then I was like, well Java is what I know best so I should focus on that even if I don't like Java that much.
And in another shocking episode of "why is my life so lame, why haven't I accomplished anything" the guy who played the cute astronaut in Brittney's video went on to become a trauma surgeon.
A frog hunts on land by vision. He escapes enemies mainly by seeing them. His eyes do not move, as do ours, to follow prey, attend suspicious events, or search for things of interest. If his body changes its position with respect to gravity or the whole visual world is rotated about him, then he shows compensatory eye movements. These movements enter his hunting and evading habits only, e.g., as he sits on a rocking lily pad. Thus his eyes are actively stabilized. He has no fovea, or region of greatest acuity in vision, upon which he must center a part of the image. He has only a single visual system, retina to colliculus, not a double one such as ours where the retina sends fibers not only to colliculus but to the lateral geniculate body which relays to cerebral cortex. Thus, we chose to work on the frog because of the uniformity of his retina, the normal lack of eye and head movements except for those which stabilize the retinal image, and the relative simplicity of the connection of his eye to his brain.
Old timey papers were written like novels and it's weird.
The epinephrine reached the adrenergic beta receptor. Propranolol stood in the middle of the span, leaning on the staff on it's left carbon ring, but on it's other ring OH gleamed, cold and white. It's enemy halted again, facing it, and the shadow about it reached out like two vast wings. It raised the whip, and the thongs whined and cracked. Fire came from its nostrils. But propranolol stood firm.
'You cannot pass,' he said. The pronethalols stood still, and a dead silence fell. 'I am a servant of the Sympathetic Nervous System, wielder of the flame of Black. You cannot pass. The dark fire will not avail you, flame of Adrenal Glands. Go back to the Endocrine system! You cannot pass.'
I wrote an extension for my own damn use, but there's no way for me to just install it locally after I'm down developing it. If I package it (to stop getting the "you're loading a dev addon! it's evil!" messages), then it goes "oh, you didn't get this from the chrome web store, let me disable it permanently
So then I go to do that, and they're like, hold on, we don't care if you're setting this to private and never going to let anyone else have it, you have to have icons in several sizes.
So I find open source icons and modify for my needs, adding them to the extension, and go to publish, but oh no, Google has to validate my dev profile by charging me $5.
>.>
Google if you wanted the damn $5 so much just tell me that's what's necessary
I'm gonna move to Denver/Portland after I graduate and grow weed and live in a passive house and ride a bicycle.
mim been talkin all that shit bout portland, bout to move here
i need a job to move to portland.
i hear that all the rich californians have really raised the prices up there?
NO WE DO NOT TOLERATE CALIFORNIANS UP HERE
Ahh, that's just what I've been hearing from reddit Portlanders.
Rent prices are raising and there aren't many jobs up there (except maybe STEM related?). They blamed rich Cali people for moving there for cheap rent but then jacking prices up for everything.
