I made some Comcast sales rep's day today. They gave me a call about an offer, and i actually took it. I recently dropped my (shared three ways with roommates) bill to $69/mo from $79 for internet only, and they offered me $69.99/mo for a year (plus taxes which the guy said would come out to about $73), with their basic digital cable package and they boost us to the 75 Mbps, and give us HBO Go and some sort of internet streaming movie service with that. Rate locked for a year, which is sort of cynical since i'll definitely be gone by then (possibly be gone by January, as i graduate before Christmas and could get a job out of town), and then it becomes somebody else's problem.
I figured the roommates wouldn't care, since it's $5/mo extra for 1.5 to 3x internet speed (not sure if we were 25 or 50), and HBO Go which is an awesome service from what i've heard. And if i can swing getting the hookup in my room, i can finally get cable TV back, which i haven't had since i left my parents' place at the end of 2013 (and miss badly).
