Are there any other anesthesia specialists in the game? Mine died for no reason that I can find.
Lock at least one of each specialist type to their unit. This prevents them from going on combat missions and dying.

Motherbase building has an additional resource cost which is why the basic upgrades are generally cheaper in terms of GMP. The higher you develop it though, the more expensive it is in both gmp and resource.

Tip on this!
Replay the main mission where you rescue Malak. When you get him out and get back to the ACC, make sure Malak is in the sickbay and not in r&d. If he goes right into r&d like the game puts him, he dies due to injuries.
Like, I have a sniper rifle that will cost as much to research as building 3 oil rigs!
And it's not even a very good rifle!
Perhaps we're looking at it wrong, maybe the oil rigs are just stupid cheap because of substandard materials and stuff.
BB has a fondness for cardboard boxes, I wouldn't be surprised if you looked hard enough at the oil rig and realized it was made entirely of cardboard.

I didn't notice that either and I was the source of both.
I will put my hand up for having a completely shitty memory.
I don't doubt I repeat things I've already said before a lot.

Quiet End Game Stuff
Was looking around more, and it seems like that emblem thing is actually legit, which is just the weirdest thing ever.
Unfortunately, it also prevents you from doing all of the missions and side ops which prevents you from 100%ing the game.
Really hoping someone figures out some crazy arcane method for keeping her more permanently. (That works on consoles, anyway, on PC you can just mod her back in)

It's in the official guide so it's 100% legit.
The MGS guides get direct information from the developers which is why they're so detailed. I don't normally buy guides, but after getting my hands on the MGS4 guide, which is just fan fucking tastic, and then before that the Reveangeance guide which was also just fucking holy shit awesome sauce, I now recommend MGS guides to everyone. They're so much better than randomly trawling shit on the internet which is always half rumor.

Also, someone in the last thread mentioned how to check your buddy rep in the field, but I'm not seeing it. anyone have any ideas?
Go to the buddy equipment research page and highlight an item. One of the requirements will be buddy loyalty X, and it will show there current loyalty beside that.
I'm not sure it actually works for DD or D-horse, but all of Quiet's stuff has a loyalty requirement.
+1

Hey men. We want you to build this oil rig. We are going to pay you entirely in common metal and fuel. But don't worry, hook up with intel they'll find you a buyer.
Game economy doesn't really have to worry about realistic considerations as much as actual game balance unless they're trying to simulate something and striving for realism.
The weapons have direct impact on the gameplay so they're more expensive in terms of GMP than the indirect impacts of base building. Base building only requiring resources would be very annoying, because it's not as easy to get as GMP and they'd have to up the resource cost to compensate so honestly you'd quickly get annoyed by it.
The game itself is quite nicely balanced in terms of what you get for what you pay.
Looking at it from the point of realism, no its not, but it isn't trying to be.

I love how into this you are Speed. I'm just content to wait it out but watching your gears churning is pretty great in the meantime.
that's about the extent of my interest in trying to figure anything out in advance
i just saw the foliage + shitty looking house on the website, thought of PT, then remembered all the PT references in MGSV and thought "whoa wait a second WHAT IF"

You say that but the majority of your posts the last three pages have been on this topic. *taps nose*

oh i'm super interested and even if it's something dumb i do hope it's legit
i just don't have any other ideas for possibly crackin' the code on it early

I really want the silenced automatic stun rifle. It's so far down the tree. I can't stick a silencer on the one I've got with customization, not for lack of trying.
I just got the silenced M2000 tranq variant sniper rifle though, and it'll down dudes in a few seconds after a single shot in the leg. It does so much more tranq damage than the dedicated tranq rifle. It's fantastic.

How unrealistic would it be for an update to unlock an amount of existing hidden content within the game comparable to the quantity of what we have already?
Disclaimer: I know nothing about how video games are made. As far as I'm aware they come from eggs laid by wizards.

unlocking it seems unlikely, it's not like there's wayyyyyyyyy more data on the disc than there should be or anything, and considering PC people are already modding it i assume if there as any weirdness in the game, like a ton of unused art assets, that would've come out by now
if it's gonna be something THAT big then it'd probably have to be a download
but if it's something tiny then i could imagine it being overlooked, or like an emblem piece that was presumed to be cut or something

The crash must have messed with your memory, Boss
To be fair, if it was realistic you could probably buy most if not all the weapons before getting all the platforms.

seems kind of unlikely that it'd be keyed to alaska time, so i'm not so sure about the 420 blaze it theory

You have just enough money to be choosy about what you build, but not so little you can't ever deploy
It doesn't make a lot of sense when you're building whole facilities for less than a gun, but, it doesn't need to.
This sentence is a demonstration of the importance of context.
Because of you heard anyone out in the world saying that a company was favoriting tweets about "the 9/11 thing", by golly you'd have some questions.

i want everyone to know that i thought "oh wait a second 2 and 0 were two numbers in the PT code, is that why it's happening on a 20?"
and proceeded to see if there were any times ending in 20 that would be coherent if you decoded it with the code used in PT
there isn't
The closest you get is the_, where the blank is a 1 because PT doesn't tell you what letter 1 represents
and the only words that even could be are them, they, thew, then, and thee, none of which are exactly an exciting word to encode
