Although it's not as bad as it could have been; we all agreed last night that working on payday is one of the best things you can do for your personal economy
Jordan I wish I had recorded our Alesso Heist efforts.

Shameful pursuits and utterly stupid opinions

Dailynous asks philosophers for their dumbed-down dissertation abstracts. Some samples:
Anti-black racism in America: it's in more stuff then you think but not quite as many as sociologists think. Fuck sociologists.
Turning Nietzsche into a good philosopher is really hard, because he wasn't.
I don't know exactly what Rawlsian "nonideal theory" is, but I know everyone else has been doing it wrong.
People really like watching films and I wonder if watching good movies can make them nicer people. I don't think it can, but maybe it's still good to watch nice films. They'll have to learn how to be nice from something else though.
America is failing Muslim Americans and I'll tell you how we, Muslim Americans, should respond: cautiously.
The sense of touch is an important part of the sense of sight. Also, continental philosophy is not all bad.
Science is like a map. A pretty good one, most of the time.

RPG.net has taught me that there are Star Wars fans who are super-into really obscure corners of the imaginary Star Wars timeline - like, not just stuff that showed up in some book series like The Fat Jedi Trilogy, or whatever, but stuff that is set "30,000 years before the movies" or "1000 years after the movies," places that aren't written about or detailed at all, and they get super-mad that Star Wars games and roleplaying games focus on the stuff from the movies, and regard fans of those movies as casuals.

And yet all that faraway (or historical) stuff looks just like anything from the movies.

Well, I can't speak for those fans - maybe that's what they treasure about their imaginary corner of the setting is that IN MY TIMELINE ALL THE SHIPS ARE SHITTY AND BROWN or whatever - but while it bugs the shit out of people on the internet I totally loved that creative decision in the KOTOR game and approve of it wholeheartedly in general. Star Wars is a look and feel as much as a fictional setting, and ditching that look and feel in pursuit of a chimerical "realism" just seems crazy to me, honestly. The original Old Republic comics from the 90s had lightsabers that plugged into backpacks and spaceships that loooked like flying cardboard boxes and it just looked like generic grimdark space setting #411-C.
Shub Niggurath, also known as the Black Goat, also known as French Girl, just absolutely destroyed @Japan, @Mojo_Jojo and I with her suckling young in a speedy game of Cthulhu Wars.
I wish. During the solar eclipse here it was heavily overcast. Couldn't see a quarter of the way up Ulriken, let alone the sun.
In the spirit of optimism me and mrs pyromanic pixie girl stayed up all night. Ended up noticing that the light outside went from 8 am cloudy to 4 am cloudy back to 8:30 am cloudy. Astronomic event of the century. Then we went to sleep because we were drunk as shit.
I know people who have lived in Svalbard. Although it is a very thinly populated place at the end of the world, it is also staggeringly beautiful and the beer costs 15 kr because of the limitations the svalbard treaty puts on taxes.

What is the deal with a lot of people on rpg.net.
They are so mad and dismissive of everything that is not their specific micro-obsession given the exact treatment they want.
They also commit the cardinal sin of replying to threads where someone says "has anyone played (some game)? What is it like?" When they have not played it but the general description of it makes them mad and they post a long screed about why it probably would make them mad if they had played it. Fuuuuu
And yet I am compelled to periodically check their forums ...

The singular animation was a lot better in my opinion.
I got a little excited when I saw your ship.
Somebody animated a sexy version of the Colour out of Space?
it makes me laugh so goddamn hard
The worst when I was still in bed just waking up I was like, I don't feel to bad.
But after showering and eating I am like fuckkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkkk.
Even if I'm exhausted
I need a king size bed but obv I do not have room for one
For some reason I sleep better at her place
But I sleep best ALONE
Which makes me wanna hang out less because sleep determines my mood and how I feel very much
The curse of the light sleeper

I sleep well, but I don't wake up well. It is a tradeoff.
in my opinion that whole scene is one of the best 25 seconds of television ever
