i wouldn't mind playing Siren again at all; shame it's just for the PS3. Though, that does mean i don't have to do that one damned stage with the little girl in the house, so it might be for the best.
Here's the Store Update that isn't late because I don't have to work super late finally.

So there's not a whole lot of difference from the Drop. There's still a deluge of stuff, though some of the titles like Hard Reset Redux, Dangerous Golf and Kick & Fennick won't be out today but rather later in the week. There's also a PS2 Classics sale on some of the first couple of waves of games including Dark Cloud 2 and the GTA Trilogy so if you're looking for that, then now's the time.
It certainly looks better than the last gen console versions. Most youtube videos I've seen say it performs and controls better too. I'll let you know, though.
I'm mostly interested in new content adds and bug fixes, especially for that awful multiplayer BS.
They'd have to fix the awful character models for me to play that again. Seriously, the person you control is more of a monster than the damn zombies.
They never bothered me since, you know, you never see yourself but from what I've seen on Youtube comparison videos, they did.
Sadly, the buzz on Gamefaqs is that none of the actual gameplay bugs were fixed at all.
I don't recall any problems when I played the game on the 360, but I did have one sidequest bug out on me tonight. Nothing else too bad, though. Something I dont remember from Xbox is One Punch Mode. It's super fun! It turbo charges your unarmed melee punches and kicks, sinding zombies flying when you hit them. Punches also randomly apply electric, fire, and bleed status effects. Also punches and kicks dont cost stamina either. The only downside is that it makes the two non survival trees kinda pointless when leveling up, and also trophies and challenges are disabled. Played the game multiple times proper on Xbox, though, so now I'm having fun playing Kung-Fu McSuperhero's island zombie adventure. I sideways punched a zombie and it flew across a swimming pool, skipping like a stone. Then it died when its face met the opposite side pool edge.
The retro revenge bonus game is pretty garbage, though
Also, the only thing on the physical disc is the first game. There's a code insert in the case for Riptide and Retro Revenge. Kinda weird.
Everyone has a price. Throw enough gold around and someone will risk disintegration.
Does anyone know if the PS4 version of Oxenfree is more or less identical to the PC version? I played the latter and enjoyed it, but if there's more to the game on PS4 I might buy it and get my wife to play it.

Yeah, they tried to feed everyone some bullshit about how it's a limitation on the PS4, you can't have two games with multiplayer in them on the same disc despite the fact Saint's Row and Borderlands both do exactly that.
The Uncharted Collection, Tearaway, Until Dawn, TLOU Remastered, Batman Arkham Knight, Fallout 4, Far Cry Primal, Transformers Devastation, Just Cause 3, Axiom Verge, Invisible Inc and 160 odd other games are all on sale.

They were lazy.
The remasters themselves at least had some effort put into them. I only have a few gripes:
There's a little to much light bloom... like, holy shit reel it in folks. There's also this weird grainy filter that you can't disable on the console versions. Lastly, whatever they did to pretty up the game made a majority of the text super tiny and unreadable.
Everyone has a price. Throw enough gold around and someone will risk disintegration.
I stumbled on this cute game called Letter Quest Remastered (it's a PS4/Vita bundle) which is pretty awesome!
It's the child of Scrabble and an RPG; you make words out of 15 tiles; the more valuable the letters, the more damage you do to the monsters. But you'll meet monsters with special abilities, like "Cannot be damaged by 4-letter-words" or "words with 2 or more letters from the top row can't damage him".
It is cute, it is colourful, it is fun, and the music is very very good! Recommended!

It is a good game, but I got a bit hung up at a certain point in the PC version where I couldn't really progress no matter what words I was playing. Maybe I just wasn't playing my best possible words. Doubly so on the F2P mobile version.

Everything about the Dead Island franchise seems to be remarkably shitty
The games themselves, the marketing, PR bullshit like this
Dying Light is legit amazing, and playing it the whole thing reeks of "this is what Dead Island would be if it were good." It's even made by the same people!
I'm surprised people would willingly jump back to Dead Island is all
I want to beat up zombies with silly weapons. Dead Island lets me do that. Dying Light seems to be more about having a hardcore parkour sesh while running away from zombies. Tried three times to get into Dying Light, and could only play a couple hours before it bored me to death.

Dying Light was boring and the characters were all thoroughly unlikable. Gameplay was annoying and glitchy as fuck. Dead Island was a lot more fun and the characters were all offensive cartoons.

I'll back UV up on this, I thought Dead Island was an utter boring mess and Dying Light was one of my favourite games of 2015 (was it 2015? Anyway, of the year it was released).

It was a good game, but the glitchy platforming totally killed it for me. I prefer not having to worry about that sort of shit and just run around and explore while beating up zombies. The loot in Dying Light didn't do anything for me either although I can't specifically put my finger on why. I think it was mainly because you almost never found anything you could use; you'd always have to just sell it all to buy the really good stuff.
And don't get me started on that awful awful awful expansion. Christ what a train wreck.
The transition to the Dying Light engine has really turbo fucked the lighting in Dead Island... It's not too bad when you're outside on foot, but there's this thing where if you're in a building looking out, the outside is just an intense white bloom. Driving the normal truck is fine, but driving the armored bank truck is a mess. You sit too far from the windshield, so the game treats it like you're in a building looking out, and you can barely see where you're driving.
Made it to the act II city last night, and the bloom isn't so bad at least. It looks really good compared to what I remember from the 360. Trash blowing around in the streets, and big dust clouds rolling through. Then at one point it started raining and got all foggy. It was great and made the whole thing turn very tense because I could hear zombies and infected, but couldn't see where they were coming from.

That may be due to a setting on your TV. I'm not having a problem with it myself. Maybe tinker with some dials? Push some levers?
You know, it just occurred to me that I do have the brightness in game set higher than recommended... I should probably futz around with that. :rotate:

Yeah, I remember it being on a sizzle reel at the Gamestop PS4 way back just after launch. It was exciting to see a game from PA forum dudes get that kind of placement.

Yup, SNK are slowly re-releasing their games on PS4 and Vita.
Anywho, I'm really tempted to pick up Oxenfree but I guess I'll hold off for a sale. Very cool it has a platinum though.
And I'm okay with the PS+ lineup, though again I think they should just drop the PS3 ones already. Maybe I should finally play a NBA 2k game.

Sure but I'm betting it'll be on sale for less by the time I actually have time to play it.
And I'm pretty sure they haven't added anything, Thirith.
In other news, there's a new sale up on the PAL PSN:
