MMA fighter War Machine has been found guilty of twenty-nine felony counts relating to his 2014 domestic violence assault on ex-girlfriend Christy Mack. XBix.com says that the jury in the trial, in which War Machine was accused of assaulting Mack and her friend in August of that year, returned a guilty verdict on twenty nine of thirty-two charges. He was acquitted of charges regarding burglary with a deadly weapon, sexually motivated coercion and battery with intent to commit sexual assault; jurors were also unable to reach a verdict on attempted murder charges regarding Mack and friend Corey Thomas.
War Machine did not testify during the trial, where he was accused of carrying out a brutal attack on Mack that left her with eighteen broken bones, a broken nose, missing teeth, fractured ribs and a lacerated liver. She alleged on the stand that he abused her and attempted to rape her in the months before the assault, a charge to which his attorney tried to claim that Mack’s adult film career could be seen as a form of consent.
For the charges, Mack could face life in prison. He is scheduled to be sentenced on June 5th.
I'm glad the dude got the book thrown at him, but holy shit is this just the scummiest line of defense.

So Bellator sure is going some sort of route, huh?
Did a seminar with 27 time world champion Renato Laranja today. Guys hilarious was pretty good, real basic jiujitsu, showed the Von flu in a really good way. Asked him about the world being flat and he kinda broke character and said it was like having someone you love who gets crazy religious and you can't be around and that he thought they should take the time to use their influence to tell people to volunteer at the boys and girls club of America instead

He does seminars in character? That's fucking hilarious.
I guess he started breaking character an hour after the seminar at open mat, I had to leave before then. Here's one he did at Atos, the guy is a riot. Very basic fundamental jiujitsu, very solid just nothing fancy, as far as technical content been to way better but this was one of the most fun for the laughs.

I want Chael and The Rock to be in some Bad Boys inspired action movie where it's not so much them shooting up stuff, but them driving to the place to shoot up the drug dealers and just talking about how they're going to kick so much ass while in the car.

I want to see Renato and Chael set aside their differences and team up to solve mysteries

Fuck that, unless Chael is the Villain, I ain't watching.
Addendum: He must must own an underground illegal fighting ring.
So don't care about a Conor GSP fight. GSP will snuggy him to death. Not factoring the fact that GSP is what fighting at middleweight when conor comes in 2 pounds under weight at welterweight?
Ugh of all ughs. I popped my knee at jiu jitsu training this morning. Was trying out this new funky roll as a counter to the knee and elbow escape with a dude way bigger than me and heard click from the side my knee. Cue pretty bad pain, though not agonising, which stopped pretty quick. It's kinda just feeling tender now, so gonna see how it is tomorrow. Don't think it's a ligament tear, but it still sucks whatever it is.

I was just listening to Domenic Cruz describe what his knee blowing out the 2nd or 3rd time felt like and you just described it, pain that subsides real quick.

Yep, saw that podcast myself, a little worrying for sure... My wife's a doctor (though specialised into psych, so her practical knowledge isn't what it used to be) and she had a quick go at checking it and it seems okay. Most importantly the internal rotation didn't hurt at all and seemed stable. Doesn't hurt any more than yesterday, so hopefully whatever damage is done is minor and temporary...
I was just saying to my friend the other day how I'm just at the point I always get to in my training where I manage to injure myself somehow. Get a few months in, start to feel my mojo again and then boom out for fucking ages. I swear I'm cursed!
Vitor's....wait a minute this can't be right *puts on third monocle*........well I'll be. Vitor's LOSS looking like it'll be overturned due to someone else failing a test. First time for everything, folks
Well all that smoking weed does explain why he wasn't able to stop eating cheeseburgers for so long.
USADA needs to pull their head out of their collective anuses on the weed front though. It's a fucking joke.
Having said that Gastellum should prooooobably be able to forego getting baked given that he definitely knows it's not allowed.
In happier news, my knee is not fucked! Went to the GP and they reckon it's just a bad sprain, so no lasting damage. Just got to rest of for 3 weeks (more like a week and a half, am I rite?!).
Just saw a video which pointed out that DC was pushing down on the covering towel the second time. I think the Rumble thing is just a weird coincidence...
NYSAC reversed decision on Pearl and will let her fight. Probably cause they looked like assholes.
What was the reasoning in the first place?
About worries that an implant will rupture. Which has happened twice to pro wrestlers with them. But you already have medical staff on scene anyway. Plus it's going to be very rare. Plus they've made exceptions before.

Have a video of what you were working on when it happened? I've popped both knees a few times, it's always kinda scary during the not knowing period at first, probably heal fine on it's own though.

There's some noise online that Weidman initially said he was hurt when he thought the knees were illegal hoping to get a dq win and the doctors wouldn't let him change his mind when it was found to be legal.
How much truth the is to this claim I don't know...
He was definitely hurt for real at least a little, the post fight interview was brutal.
I have no idea what happened in the Weidman fight, just make them continue the fight. Knee was legal because his hands weren't on the mat .
So there is no replay in MMA. The Ref called an illegal blow and the rules specify what happens.
"If a foul incapacitates a fighter, then the match may end in a disqualification if the foul was intentional, or a "no contest" if unintentional. If a foul causes a fighter to be unable to continue later in the bout, it ends with a technical decision win to the injured fighter if the injured fighter is ahead on points, otherwise it is a technical draw."
This was purely the ref fucking things up and taking it out on a fighter.

Cormier just missed weight for his fight with Johnson.
206.2
Can't be a title fight now.
EDIT: Holy shit. He just walked back out and then hit 205.

it was like watching a super nice guy trying not to smile and apologize when his girlfriend wants dirty talk
Cormier/Johnson fight, just a nothingburger. A few punches and one kick to stomach and Johnson has nothing else.
I think the doctors decided he got concussed.
