According to NASA, a vessel with humans on it would take roughly six months to travel to Mars and another six months to travel back from Mars. In addition, astronauts would have to stay 18-20 months on Mars before the planets re-align for a return trip. In all, the mission would take roughly 2 1/2 years.
So, with that stated, what would you bring?
If you had a 50 lb. case for your personal belongings, how would you fill it? One can imagine that the space station itself will cover food, clothing and also have general technology (television screens/computers).
So, what do you bring on your trip to Mars?

I'd bring 50 lbs of porn.
Buncha music for the same.
edit: obviously games and music are the cheat answer, because as digital entities, they are lightweight.
If so, a 3DS and a laptop loaded up with Unity 3D and Photoshop
If not, just a shitload of books and maybe a board game or two

A Marvin the Martian t-shirt.

My Kochikens plush.

Depends on if we make Mars a national park.
Manual navigation equipment (binoculars, sextant, et cetera)
Large quantities of paper, along with pencils and pens for both writing and drawing
A couple of basic roleplaying game sourcebooks
Dice
The Iliad, The Odyssey, and The Aeneid (Fagles translation for all)
Several hundred feet of parachute cord
Multiple sets of knives

Hand sewing kit
A large book of crossword puzzles
A guitar

Kindle
Cell phone (for camera, writing, music)
NVidia Shield (I don't own one but it plays some PC games decently I hear)
I mean just with the first two I have functional access to at least fifteen 100+ hour RPG's, a vast library of books, and 50 hours of assorted music. The future is now.
What do you suppose is the best weight-to-mass ratio? Probably not platter drives, maybe blu-ray, possibly SSD?
It has none of it's own. Yet.
The machine spirits will change that soon enough.
That helps explain my other question of why the Mars font is so ominous.
If Skub is unavailable, 50lbs of Salve.
Don't stop at 50 lbs. Take it all so we can finally be rid of all skub here on Earth.
-Ipad for music, notes, etc.
-A few D&D source books.
-A sketch book for my terrible drawings of mars
-A few board games, but not too many since they can take up the weight pretty quickly. Small footprint games like Love Letter for sure. It would depend on my fellow 'nauts as to which other couple I bring.
-Mars has like, 40% of earth's gravity, so I would probably bring a baseball bat and a few baseballs and just hit the crap out of them.
-That's at least two birthdays of mine, so i'll bring two packs of Oreos and hopefully they keep for that long.

Whoa whoa whoa... Are you anti-skub?
How are you not?
Gonna confuse the fuck out of whoever comes to colonize.
Swords at dawn!
And maybe a decent camera.
The first music played on Mars: country.
The first music played on Mars would be punk rock
Because I definitely don't know more than three chords
