Sydney is a side-cuddler by choice but will tolerate being held like a baby. She also get's this really funny itchy nose thing.

They are not native to the US, they are from Aussieland and some other SE Asian areas
Flying squirrels of two varieties make wide swathes of the North America their home. You just don't see em much because they are nocturnal, super stealthy, tiny, really fast, and generally don't come down to the ground that much.
