Wait, I thought he was in the second season of Broadchurch, but that Gracepoint wasn't getting a second season?

Or did I mix up the titles again?

    Also...(Jessica Jones Spoilers!)
I can totally see him showing up in a flashback or nightmare sequence in Season 2.

If I recall correctly the movie was originally being helmed by Cary Fukunaga who had to walk away after the studio wouldn't give the go-ahead for his version of the film based on budget concerns. I don't remember what his vision for it was, though.

His vision was filming it in New York. Bam, budget issues.

Instead of a director's cut we'll get an actor's cut. With all the actors.

So I watched BvS because I was on a plane for 12 hours.

The movie was boring and soulless and did the dumbest shit to Batman and I didn't buy any of it for a second, but for most of it I was going "I don't hate this."

    And then
    Doomsday

And I was like, "Yes, this is it. This is the thing that made people hate this dogshit."

And I guess if you liked that bit I can see how you might like the rest of the movie, because it wasn't until that moment that I really actively loathed it.

Edit: also I thought Wonder Woman's theme was awful, really the whole soundtrack is poo.

Watched The Witch with the girlfriend the other night, we're both still talking about it. It was highly unsettling to both of us.

I really can't wait to watch The Witch, but I have to. My wife won't watch it because of the scene in the trailer where
the baby vanishes and is then shown on that table with some creepy fucker behind it, apparently about to do bad things. Can't say I blame her. I'm not looking forward to that at all. Having a 14-month old kind of turns your "nope!" levels up to 11 when bad things happen to kids in movies. Shit, I couldn't finish watching Under the Skin because of that beach scene. I'll finish it eventually, but that unsettled me something fierce.

Interesting. In the original series was there ever anything that insinuated something like....

Motoko Kusanagi is such a typical European name what are you talking about.

Here's the thing I find most irritating about it.
She's got a full body prosthesis right? They could easily have still cast an Asian actress AND Johannson to play the role. And hell, other actresses too of different ages and ethnicities. A series of flashbacks or events early in the movie to to explain why she's in the new body.

The numerous other roles though? They should absolutely be primarily Japanese, with only full cyborgs or non-Japanese characters cast as other races, and those that meet that criteria should be diverse.

I gotta say I have a whole different set of concerns about a story in which a person of Japanese ethnicity gets turned Caucasian before doing a bunch of protagonist stuff.

Thats why I said multiple actresses of varying age and ethnicity. It could have actually been a super cool way to work in the conflict between body/mind/soul that a lot of the series talks about. What's to stop someone from changing their appearance however they want? Hell it might even make sense for someone working in a high-level antiterrorism task force.

Pretty sure I haven't seen this posted, but apologies if I missed it.

Jon Lajoie, probably best known as Taco from The League put out an album as Wolfie's Just Fine. He also wrote and directed this video for the song A New Beginning. It's basically an ode to 80's slasher movies and his first time watching one as a kid. In this case seeing a naked woman for the first time, and then seeing her brutally murdered about 30 seconds later (also the first murder he'd ever seen on screen).
