Yeah I mostly planned on using a graze as a base and kitbashing from there with some minor altering of pieces since at the very least that is in my wheelhouse
Then hopefully painting which is entirely not in my wheelhouse but I will try very hard

That is not a thing that happens with Gunpla. Like, there's one kit I can think of that's discontinued. Most kits take breaks between runs, sometimes for years at a time, but they wouldn't discontinue a kit from the current series.
Kits just go out of print for a short while, the length of time depending on how recent/popular its series was, but I've rarely seen kits from the past decade even just no longer be available.
Knuckle dusters are probably my second favourite gunpla weapon
They just need to be bigger
to be exact, big enough to double as shields
damn that is a pretty Maxter
G Gundam had some pretty great designs once you get past the general goofiness of the entire concept.
Of course, it also had a gundam that disguised itself as a windmill, so... yeah.

Wasn't there also a horse Gundam? And the pilot was a horse too? Or am I getting mixed up here?
for spray painting: is spraying them on the sprue and then touching up nub marks with a brush a workable strategy? or should i look to snip every piece out and spray them individually
discharge spray paint cans into a tub until a 3-4 inch deep deep pool of liquid spray paint forms then dunk the completed model in that for a nice even coat
Does anyone know of more kits that contain female connections for the arms
It seems like the only way that I can make it work and the Thunderbolt kit has such specific looks that while it is good for a proof of concept I would hate to actually use it
there are two holes that that a circle peg on the grazes back. They are meant for its boosters. The Full Armor Thunderbolt gundam has the same hole for where it connects to the body. By cutting a bit of runner and sticking it in the hole I can force the two to connect

Not calling you out at all here, dude, but this is a good opportunity to bring up something I cannot stand.
I know it's a common and widely recognised engineering term but can we not equate a hole to "female" and peg to "male" in regards to parts? Personally I'd really appreciate that, and even beyond the trans stuff it's just Kinda Gross in my opinion.

They go a suprisingly long way

I decided to see how much was too much
