Oh, he designed The O? I always thought that was a great design. It still looks like it fits in with other MS designs (especially in Zeta which had some weirdness anyway) but it also definitely looks unique and foreign enough to be the perfect machine for a dude that spent most of his life at Jupiter.
Saw something very interesting at this years Anime Expo that I had never seen before.
A booth in the vendors hall that only sold already built, painted, weathered etc Gunpla kits. They ranged from little HG guys for like $40 to a pretty gorgeous PG Unicorn for $3000. Part of the booth was given over to watching the main builder simply building kits.
I didn't grab any myself as the joy of building is the main appeal of the hobby to me, but it was very interesting to see. Also noticed just WAY more stores stocking Gunpla in general. You used to see a handful of dedicated Gunpla vendors, and while those are still around I saw a lot more booths that had general nerd stuff and a small selection of Gunpla as well. It seems the hobby is really growing.

Friend dragged me to the hobby shop today because he wanted paints, and while i was there I stumbled across the cutest little tank for $8, I just had to have it!
Shocking number of pieces, three small runners worth, moving (rubber treads) rotating turret with some barrel elevation, etc. Super pleased with the cutie for the price. Just trimmed some flash and dry fit it for now, might take it apart and paint it down the road. Fun evening build.
That tiny little preview window makes me think "Man, that's a huge box for such a small toy."
Hah! That would be insane if they tried to sell the core fighter in a giant box like that, it's not the Nippon way. The Nippon way is tiny minimalist packaging wrapped in 4 tons of bubble wrap and placed in a shipping box the size of a Nissan Altima.
Honestly, the Aiele Strike is the main suit for 75% of Seed, with the Freedom being the last 25%. The Freedom is then the main suit for 75% of Seed Destiny. So you can easily justify skipping out on the Strike Freedom, as it didn't show up until episode 39 of 50.

Gundam Dantalion (aka Gundam Actual Heavyarms) is up on Amazon Prime now, but it's being price gouged a good bit. Gonna just wait on that one.
Also it apparently gets an upgrade where it also has big 'ol armored legs in addition to it's arms and I bet dollars to donuts that version is gonna be P Bandai.

how do you feel about Kobayashi's more organic designs?
Of course he can also do the more refined mechanical as well:
The second is actually pretty neat.
Kobayashi!
His designs can go from the conventional to the bizarrely organic
EDIT: I think those last two are supposed to be the ZZ and a Baund-Doc
Man, and I thought IBO suits were bad about having obvious weak point waists.
Especially if it's a huge shotgun that fires shot made up of pellets the size of bowling balls that explode on impact...
Dastards

I think it's a sherman
Yup! There was also a Tiger 1 for sale at the same price, and the shop owner said he knew there was a KV-2 in the works as well.
lol
A Gundam thing!
(A couple more pics will go here as I take them.)
And yes, it's in scale with 1/144 kits
And yes, there are little tiny pilots in the cockpits.
ALL OF THEM.
Edit: this is gonna take a while. There's like 7 different configurations for it.

I've kind of got it in my head to get a kit of every lead mobile suit from the various shows. Actually not that far off.
Need a

Well I'm certainly not buying 3 Seed kits so I'm just gonna get the revive Strike Freedom and call it good.

They never even released an HG version.
