I was totally on board with everything he was doing. They just made me switch sides and oppose him for dumb gameplay reason. I wanted a Horde powered by the black blood of a fallen Old God, and mantis friends. He wasn't even that racist, he had goblins!
Garrosh plan:
Orcs as rulers and warriors. Goblins as workers. Trolla, Tauren, Forsaken, and Blood Elves as slum dwelling grunts. Everyone else as meat.
If they ever decide to make a Ret Pally Hero, Yrel or Liadrin would be perfect fits.
Like aside from lore/in-game reasons, they have the perfect silhouette.
Let's look at Uther:
And it's like, dude's got some bulky armor so he's probably tanky, and he's wielding this nice chunky mace... but then he's also got a tome in his off-hand. And his appearance has this kinda regal look to it, like there's cloth draped over his armor. So it's like oh, he's a Support! That makes sense.
Or you look at Johanna (who isn't a Paladin but for all intents and purposes might as well be a Prot Pally):
And she's got a MASSIVE fucking shield, a giant goddamn flail, and is completely covered in thick plate armor. You can look at her and instantly recognize, that's a tank.
So, Liadrin and Yrel:
They've got kinda slim silhouettes right? Doesn't give off the image of being a tank, so if you see them wielding a giant fuckin' 2-hander you know right away, that's an Assassin. Liadrin has a shield in this artwork but I mean they could just as easily give her a 2-handed sword.
ANYWAY, food for thought on visual design of the characters :bzz:

We were going to wipe out the Forsaken entirely, actually.

I would be totally down for Yrel. Liandrin is fine too but never struck me as quite as interesting of a character (maybe if I had a BE Paladin I would know her better - I feel like she hasn't shown up much outside the blood elf TBC stuff)
We are lacking a Draenei hero! And we've already got two Blood Elves, right? Yrel would be cool.
I stopped playing WoW after Mists so I don't even know who she is! But she looks cool and Draenei paladins have a very distinct look and appearance to them that sets them apart.

She's the leader of the Draenei in alternate universe Draenor after alt Velen dies.

GET IT, TIME
BECAUSE, TIME TRAVEL SHENANIGANS, EXCEPT, NOT, REALLY???
man i don't know nothin about wow's story now
i heard like gul'dan's alive, and also illidan??? wtf
Its alt-Gul'Dan and i killed him for phat loot for weeks.
Which is a shame because Gul'dan is literally the best (hence my avatar). They wrote him soooo good in Warlords. It sucks he's been killed off again already

That's just one skull in a sea of bones
Still it would be nice to have a draenei hero for something different even if it was the ret healer Yrel
Sadly I feel they will just stick in Akama first

Team Liquid just showed amazing Lost Vikings play. Not just HasuObs on Vikings, although he played well, but his whole team just knew exactly how to take advantage of it. 4-group roaming, and rotating in sync with the Vikings.
The illidan thing is a tale as old as time. If demons don't get killed in the twisting nether, they don't actually die. And technically illidan didn't die anyway, Maiev imprisoned him at the end of BT.
That one wasn't just retconny nonsense.
edit: oh i guess he did die at the end of BT, but doesn't really count anyway since he was a demon by then. suppose the imprisonment was so he wouldn't come back, as demons are want to do.
Also, the Illidan who's alive again is the original Illidan, not an alt-Illidan. It's the same guy from Burning Crusade.
WTF THIS SOUNDS SO CONFUSING???
omg what did they do to WoW
wtffff
The Legion story is pretty cool actually.
After the fall of the Black Temple, the corpse of Illidan was taken by Warden Maiev Shadowsong to the Vault of the Wardens so that Illidan's dark, lingering soul could suffer the rest of his eternal sentence—along with his followers, the feared Illidari.[38]
Cordana Felsong led the Gul'dan from an alternate universe to the Vault of the Wardens where Illidan's corpse was being imprisoned, as he was the key to Azeroth's downfall by the Legion. Although confronted by Maiev and several of Illidan's demon hunters freed from their prisons, Cordana and Gul'dan escaped with Illidan's body.[39] Gul'dan brought Illidan's body to Black Rook Hold, where he conducted a ritual to separate his soul from his body.[40] Illidan's soul was then sent into the Twisting Nether.[41] The prime naaru Xe'ra seeks Illidan and believes he is the "child of Light and Shadow" destined to end the age of demons.[42] The remaining Illidari on board the Fel Hammer contacted Illidan's soul within the Twisting Nether, where Illidan revealed that Akama knew his plans to defeat the Burning Legion and tasked the Illidari with convincing him to rejoin their cause, as well as retrieving the [Sargerite Keystone] from wherever the Wardens hid it. Upon being discovered by the demons, Illidan announced that the Illidari would not be able to contact him like this again and named a demon hunter adventurer as their new leader in his place before fleeing his pursuers.[43]
Gul'dan sought to use Illidan's body as a vessel for Sargeras' spirit, and so Xe'ra and the Illidari planned to return Illidan's soul to his body before it was too late.[44] Allari the Souleater constructed a soul prism that would store Illidan's soul long enough to transfer him inside [Light's Heart]. However, Illidan's soul had been stolen out of the Nether and pulled into Helheim.[45] Xe'ra and the Illidari speculated that Gul'dan had struck a deal with Helya to retrieve and keep it there. After the death of Helya, his soul was put into the soul prism and then brought to Light's Heart which seemingly consumed it.[46] Light's Heart, with Illidan's soul inside, was brought to Archmage Khadgar with instructions to call forth the vessel's power when Gul'dan attempts to open the portal for Sargeras in order to release Illidan's soul into his body.[47]
Within the Nighthold, Khadgar attempts to do as he was instructed. But unbeknownst to Khadgar, Sargeras has already filled Illidan's empty shell, and doing so awakens him.[48] The adventurers then battle The Demon Within. After Sargeras is defeated, Illidan takes control of his body and kills Gul'dan the same way Gul'dan killed Varian Wrynn, ripping him apart with fel energy until only his skull remains. He then crushes it with his hand and turns to the assembled fighters, telling them that now they know what they face, they should follow him into the abyss.
I would be totally down for Yrel. Liandrin is fine too but never struck me as quite as interesting of a character (maybe if I had a BE Paladin I would know her better - I feel like she hasn't shown up much outside the blood elf TBC stuff)
She appeared in the Shattrath quest hub in WoD (trying to repay the debt Blood Elves owe the Draenei maybe?)
She's also the main Horde contact for the Insurrection storyline in Legion.

I think the VODs don't go up till the current broadcast session ends? It's only game 2 though, so the series is still going if you're interested.
I'm pretty sure I heard someone say VoDs go up simultaneously and are refreshed with new content as you go (remember, it was in the HS thread for the new expac reveal? I think you were there :P )

I probably just skipped over it haha. I don't usually watch VODs.

Team Liquid just drafted TLV again (and banned Abathur). The draft is still ongoing on Towers of Doom, if anyone is curious to see them play Vikings live.
Edit: To expand, this is a fun draft even beyond that. Team Expert grabbed Illidan and Genji as their first two picks, with Greymane as their third. SUPER aggressive. Team Liquid led their draft with double-support + TLV.
I mean, usually we'd be getting the spotlight video today, but the announce was a week earlier than usual, probably because of the chinajoy stuff. I expect we'll see the normal hero walkthrough and in development next week.

That country alone guaranteed the Warcraft movie's success.
So yeah, they want the hype train to make a stop there.
