@radiation: I was a little confused about what you mentioned about proxying through you if you sent our santee to us. Should I use or Proxy for questions to them? Or was I just misreading something?

Sorry, I didn't make that clear. It was clear to me in my head!
Because I split the list in half so that both Proxy and I wont know our Santa anyone who received their santee from me ideally should use me as a proxy.

Oh yeah, since gifting as an item is no longer a thing, can we paypal you/proxy to send gifts in our stead? I know Steam has the gift card gifting, but it's for round amounts, not specific amounts. Not really gonna be an issue anytime soon, but once the Steam sale hits, I imagine gifts are gonna be flying.

Yes that is totally fine with me. I'd prefer steam so I don't have to mess with paypal.
I'm Radiation13 on steam. Though again, this is only for my group of Santa's. If you got info from Proxy, Proxy is on steam as well and I think will be willing to perform that role as well?

Some info for my Santa, since I haven't posted much lately:

I'm minirhyder on all game accounts (Steam, Origin, Battlelog, etc.).
Some of my favorite games have been Mass Effect, Assassin's Creed, Fallout, Civ. I play a whole lot of World of Tanks.
I really loved the Expanse book series.

If necessary for Steam giftery, Proxy is willing to serve.
Due to local legislation, please note that Proxy's sales tax may differ from your own when gifting!

I don't think that works any more, @Proxy the Elf

Once you send someone a gift, they can now either add it to their account immediately or refuse it, which gives the initial purchaser a refund.

There's no way to hold games in inventory any more.

Oh snap I've been notified of a tracking number heading my way, already! Clearly I need to redouble my own stalking efforts.

Thanks for the clarification! And you really were clear I just wanted to make sure I understood since previous years it has all been through Proxy.

We were discussing this in G+T Chat the other night: you could probably gift Proxy the money to buy a game, and then have them buy the game for your Santee. There doesn't seem to be any restrictions if you're just sending money.

Sending the gift, no. Researching the gift and planning/ordering it, yes.

At the same time, I feel like I found something really cool and I can't get it because it's sold out and out of production. Emailing the companies now to see if they have some backstock somewhere but I highly doubt it.

Interventions are frowned upon as gifts, right?

You can, unless you're trying to stay anonymous. It will auto-friend you if you send a gift.

Well, that explains why those randos kind people appeared on my friends list! IRL, I have no friends, so I wrote it off as a bug.

Yeah, steam does not do anonymous well. Even if you email it, get the link, and send just the link to them it still friends your accounts.

I've received a cryptic message! My santas love to torment me with cryptic clues, it's great! But I am very confused.

Message was in a language like this: Μια ιδέα για σας

That's the first part, not the whole thing. I'm gonna see if the package that is supposed to be arriving tomorrow has any connection to the rest of this and then we'll see! EXCITEMENT!

Yeah the second part of the message is a lot more cryptic and google translate got all of it pretty well. But for now it's mostly greek to me, ha.

I think I have a theory! Here's the whole thing
    Μια ιδέα για σας:

Ο κυνηγός χτυπάει κατά τη διάρκεια αυτού του μέρους του έτους.
The hunter hits this time of year?
I know that Orion is a greek hunter and a constellation but I don't know where to go from there...

I was in a bar last night with my friend watching Jeopardy, and an answer about a Greek term for a food came up and my friend instantly translated and knew the answer because he is Greek. That hardly seemed fair.

How much did you want us to speculate?

Edit: Does anyone else have to actively try not to speculate what people are getting them? I have ruined so many gifts from my wife because I can just tell from her attitude or whatever, what she got for me. It makes her crazy and I feel so bad.

Let's hold back until I see whatever it is I get tomorrow and then if it warrants speculation and hint solving we'll go from there. I'm super curious now and wanted to share though!
