If you haven't seen it yet, Cleopatra 2525 was made by much of the same team that made the Kevin Sorbo Hercules, so expect a generous helping of Raimi-inspired cheese-shlock and an impressively managed practical effects budget. The CGI though... well we know heavy use of CGI doesn't age well anyway.
but is the chin in it?
He was not, but Cleopatra 2525 did premier next to Bruce Campbell's criminally short-lived Jack of All Trades as part of the "Back2Back Action Hour". Cleopatra 2525 outlived Campbell's series, but not by a lot.
I read that they listen to a talking parrot on Jack of All Trades.

Jack of All Trades was up for an Emmy for best title song. Also didn't Cleopatra 2525 have Zoe from Firefly in it? And one of the women who was on that Mutant tv show?
Man I watched way too much late 90's early 2000's weekend TV.
"We need ideas for season 7 plots. Go!"
"Umm... everybody de-evolves into dinosaurs!"
"The Enterprise turns into a mayan temple."
"Data has bad dreams."
"Speaking of Data, what if his mom visits?"
"Don't forget the obligatory Troi's mom episode. How about secret dead daughter trauma?"
"Worf's brother! No wait we did that... his human brother!"
"Picard's secret love child!"
"Geordi's mom!"
All real episodes. And in researching that joke, I kinda noticed a weird recurring well the season kept dipping into.
you can really tell, in retrospect, that a lot of the writers were hitting their 30s and starting families around season 5 onward because the percentage of family/child episodes fuckin' skyrockets
not that all of them are bad. "hero worship" with the kid who wants to be data in season 5 is actually great and doesn't go where you think it will, and I will defend data's creepy dreams to my dying day
but "geordi's mom" has me falling asleep in my chair just reading it

Instead of "Geordi's mom", I was originally going to write "An episode where Levar doesn't have to wear the visor, we'll bullshit an actual plot later". Which now makes me wonder which idea potentially came first.
"The sausage of Green Earth explodes with flavor like the cannon of culinary delight."
In this week's episode, Obrien's wife turns into a child and still wants to have maritals with him
I like to think at one point Obrien must have really pissed off Q, maybe he just wrecked one of the bathrooms while Q was human and he was waiting to use it, and as such whenever Q gets bored he pops by to inflict misery on Obrien
I returned to where I paused my Star Trek watching, S1E22, The Return of the Archons. That's a really good episode to come back to, and one of the best I've seen in season 1 so far. It makes me want to keep note of how many mind-control/hive-mind episodes I run into, because the series seem to come back to that pretty often.
Ahhh, it's a decent episode. But it's a season 2 episode, meaning it's both literally and figuratively in between season 1's lameness and season 3's established rhythm.

Data may not have emotions but he can emulate smug perfectly.
I'm assuming it's after hours and hours of studying Riker's facial expressions and behavior, like in that episode where he uses his new small talk protocol to annoy the hell out of occupy on an even footing a diplomat who keeps trying to talk Picard's ear off.
I can appreciate that Spiner was always itching for ways to act 'normally', but I think he packed an awful lot of feeling into some straight Data episodes. Measure of a Man, obviously, but I think my most treasured Data line-reading is from a poker game, where he's dealing, and he offhandedly tosses Worf a useless card and says "No help for the Klingon".
Data's learned to mimic emotions for certain scenarios, but then the situation ends and he instantly goes right back to default settings. It's the change that makes it great.
It has been the third time that I watched the Hotel Royal episode. I have bad luck. It keeps popping up on the TV.
So, if I am watching on Netflix, should I just jump to season 3?
There are a few good episodes in Season 1-2, and some that setup plot threads that will come up again in 3-7. You should get a viewing guide and focus on those.

I'm so jelly. I can't find an equivalent on IOS .
I went ahead and bought both of them.
King Abdullah II of Jordan was on a Voyager episode.
Man I watched way too much late 90's early 2000's weekend TV.
Who also showed up on Hercules for a bit.
A lot of those shows were so closely connected.

Child Picard is hilarious

ZathraYES!!
I wish i didn't have a visceral hate of child actors so i could enjoy it
Yeah, i skipped that one too after about 15 minutes. I don't as a rule hate child actors, but i definitely found most of those pretty grating.
So far the only exception to the rule is stranger things.

Child Ro was actually my favorite
Ro is just my favorite in general
I loved the episode where they lost their memories and Ro and Riker took all of five minutes to hook up
