Gone Home was one of those "you-liked-it-or-you-didn't" things. Those who weren't into what Gone Home was wouldn't even classify it as a game. I see the angle they're going for with joke that Gone Home having a Battle Royale mode would do based on that kind of reaction to the game.
Count me among those who were perplexed by Gone Home being multiple publications GOTY.

There is a school of thought that an _OTY shouldn't necessarily be the artistically or technically or successfully greatest but the one that best captures the cultural current of the year, the movie or book or game that in 50 or 100 years can be cited as "That's what 2017 was about."
It's always been big in film awards, but it's only been the last few years it's been growing in game journalism.
Gone Home is a video game, you can't really classify it as anything else. Not sure I'd give it GOTY honors, but I thought it told a fantastic story. I was a little frustrated with the sister and her girlfriend by the end though because... dammit, you kids are ruining your lives a little!
Everyone has a price. Throw enough gold around and someone will risk disintegration.
I played gone home with my wife and it was a neat little story/game thing. The ending to this comic made me pause for a few seconds to think and then when it clicked I laughed pretty hard. Excellent punch line.
Seriously though, I'm waiting for EA/DICE to enter the arena.
They managed to get BF4 to run with 64 players @ a 60hz server tick rate and it plays pretty well from what I heard.
Given the complains from players about the horrible netcode of PUBG and Fortnite (especially PUBG) ... a realistic looking Battle Royale that performs well would likely be very welcome.

But is it pronounced "Gif" or "Jif"?
GIF. The 'G' is short for 'Graphics'. Hard 'G'.
I will fight this battle until the day I die.

But the creator of the format pronounces it with a soft G.

Wait, I thought they had bubbles, and Judgments.
I am so out of the loop.
Well, metaphorically speaking, because you know...plastic.
I know places where you can find animated gifs.

I genuinely thought you were saying they were going to get into the GIF debate.
