I'm actually considering, for the first time, going for a concerted effort in Ranked play. I've only ever just done placements, then faffed about in Normals. I decided to go with whatever my stats showed I had the highest win rate with (LoL recap and League if Graphs) this season and the results were...

At a 60% role win rate and 60% each champion win rate, Bottom, with Miss Fortune primary and Cassiopeia secondary, which I was incredibly surprised to see! I honestly would have never guessed.
Now to head to Ranked, /muteall, and see what I can learn.

edit: yea, i quit league. this bottom lane shit is ridiculous. adcs are absolutely garbage compared to tanky/burst characters with a poke support. i can shoot a yuumi sylas 15 times and they're barely scratched because of her insane healing and how anemic adc damage is, he dash chains me and i lose 90% of my hp before i can flash and then i'm basically out of lane for 300 seconds. to say nothing of the fact that i'm up 40 cs on him in 8 minutes but who cares if he can just kill me and my support at will.
like he runs at me with zoomies while we're trading, i dash back as caitlyn, drop a trap, and he just skips through all of it and deletes me on the all in every time.
and then midgame i go to try and fight mid and aatrox is 4 levels up on me and my support and he's 1/1 but might as well be 15/0. like, how am i supposed to fight someone level 12 when i'm level 8 haha, whoever balanced this lane needs to stop taking drugs man. aatrox flash dash qed me for 75% of my hp from basically offscreen while i was under mid t2 tower and like, the game's just over. why even bother. the vast majority of my games i'm the only marksman playing against double tank or double mage or assassin mage because i'm the one idiot still trying to learn adc i guess and all i am is an xp and gold sack for the enemy jungler to gank.
You can quit league, but if you like it at all I would encourage you to just quit botlane for now instead. You hate the 2v2 dynamics at your elo—fortunately, there are two solo lanes and a roaming team player, so be one of those! You don’t have to deal with playing adc if you don’t want to; that’s why there is positional queueing. I can tell you that some people find playing ‘traditional marksman’ super enjoyable, including in the current meta, but some people really hate it and would rather have that 1v1 experience. So go play mid! (Also you can play Lucian mid and no one will flame—if you still want to play marksman. I’ve also played a nonzero amount of Jhin mid, which is not exactly recommended but can be really fun.)
i love the 2v2 dynamic, and i love playing traditional marksman. once i have 2-3 items and am only 1-2 levels down instead of 3 to top/mid laners and can actually sort of participate in fights on my own merits it's exciting and fun. I also like playing into another adc/support combo, the trading game at the beginning is really fun when both sides are fairly similar. I hate CSing, but that's life everywhere. The 1v1 top lane is ok but I don't like mid because I don't like assassins which seems to be the vast majority of chars I see there.
i just don't want to get flamed off the planet by my support or jungle for being bad (i'm bronze 2 what do you want) which is half the games, or get stomped into the ground by some bruiser with insane engage and base dps in lane which is the other half. i feel like i can get 5 AAs to trade into someone and poke them off the lane like cho'gath and then he hits me with one stun and he's ahead. Or playing against like Volibear Galio who you can't even zone off the lane because of their huge engage power and way higher base damage. And maybe that's just like, i need a different support than what I had in that game and there isn't much I can do about it. I'm certainly new enough to SR that it's probable that a different support would have made that game trivially easy to bully their melee ranges. But as is it felt awful.
I saw they're quote unquote looking at bottom lane balance which, hey maybe. I just feel like mages and bruisers are generally better to have in the lane at low elo unless the game goes 30+ minutes and that's a bummer. i'll play again i'm sure, it's just frustrating that it feels like the role i enjoy most is one that i'm not particularly sure what it's role is with how much baseline damage is in the game on other roles.

So I can say from personal experience that it’s possible to find it enjoyable!
I also dodge games in solo queue if I see a gimmicky duo lane that seems like it might work well or scale way better than me and my team. Dodging is always an option!
One of my friends has a 100% win rate on Zac with like 12 games. Anytime we play clash its first banned every time. Its hilarious

At least the cat in a recent game managed to follow up my shit on Fiddle and actually secure a few kills between dying.

Honestly, /muteall. I think that will solve a lot of your problems.
Personally I like that formerly off-meta stuff works bot lane now when before it wouldn't; as credeiki notes, you can still play Marskmen other places anyway, but I do get why people are bothered by it.

Knight_, last night in your honor I played Sivir/Taric into Sylas/Ekko (with no gold gen items???) in like bronze flex queue (...I feed in flex a lot) and we d e s t r o y e d them. Enemy shyv ganked us and friendly Wu did not gank us.
I would clip it as an example except my play was honestly embarrassingly bad so I don't want to. Taric was just abysmal, like he landed...0 stuns? Nor did he use R in a way that I ever received it. And he had heal and TP??
So how did we beat them:
0. Champion select—I picked Sivir because even though she has short range, I like her and she has lots of waveclear, kites well cause high ms, and can spellshield hard cc (and they actually didn’t have a lot of hard cc). When I saw Taric’s summoner spells I figured he’d be useless so I chose a champion I can 1v2 lane with, including csing well under tower or csing with Q if zoned off the wave. I was also playing flex and didn’t super care about winning or losing so I didn’t start pre-tilted.
1. pushed them in; I push better and they had issues csing and harassing at the same time
2. dodged all the poke; ekko and sylas poke is very telegraphed
3. spellshield every sylas stun (yeah ok I chose sivir and that's not always available)
4. aa harass when it feels right/when they can't respond cause of minions/when they just used their cooldowns
5. Ward and make sure that i had flash and/or ult available if I didn’t know where the jungler was
Eventually my solo lane got huge and came down to force some kills in my lane, but in the meantime I was up a ton of cs and a kill or two and some plates. So it’s definitely possible!
While I'm sad that yet another of my high mastery champions is getting reworked (actually my highest Mastery)...he does look pretty cool and still recognizably Volibear.

Jhin (me)/Senna into Twitch/Yuumi and we just d e s t r o y e d them, came out of lane up all plates, up a couple levels from zoning them off cs, at least 40 cs and 3+ kills up; our Jax into their Renekton and at one point I looked and he had 14 cs and lvl 5 into renek level 7 but he didn't give up any kills so it ultimately did not end up mattering at all. Good shit! Won before 20 minutes. I saw botlane picks and I was like yeah ok if we don't stomp this based off our champions, I need to uninstall--but I did not need to uninstall.
Played an aram and Got a volibear emote for "weathering the storm" so it seems there's hidden rewards like with the last champ release that was given away for free sett.
I have this weird thing going where I simultaneously only feel comfortable playing Miss Fortune in ranked while being aware that I am only mediocre at her and the role and ALSO really, really liking Senna in normals but super hesitant to play her in ranked especially in Bottom vs Support.

I guess but his passive could easily be mitigated with bush wards in bot lane and hit trinket is useless. Then I don't know how he can use his W effectively without screwing up farm for his partner. But I suppose bot lane is a clusterfuck right now anyway and a lot of shenanigans are more effective than usual.

Fiddle has extreme range on his poke that is absurdly easy to land, his trinket means that you have a billion vision score and basically have everything warded forever, and his engage wins games.
He's really strong with the right people. Nocturne jungle in particular.

I've gotten to the point with Illaoi where I can handle anyone I lane against pretty well, and after I get to 6 I can perma-push the tower because I'd love for someone to gank while I have a couple tentacles up. I'm usually way up in CS and if they get dumb and feed me a few kills, then I get way ahead in kills.
The only problems I have is taking my top lane advantage and translating that into the team advantage.
That is a problem with top lane in general. One thing to consider is stealing camps in the enemy jungle. Second top tower can be dangerous to solo push (unless you're Trynd) but taking enemy raptors, grumps, and what ever else you can get can give you more income and help the team by putting the enemy jungle behind. Make sure you ward enemy territory while you do this and sweep baron/dragon to give your team the vision advantage to press objectives.
I finally replaced my 10+ year old been-pretty-much-rebuilt laptop that only ran League on minimum everything and took enough time to boot up to fully brew a pot of coffee.
Now I'm running League on max everything and have to completely re-learn how to play.
Bonus though, I can finally actually do the Riven fast combo and the Caitlyn E-Q combo!

Been getting a shitload of troll teams lately, unsure why. My last few games have been:
ADC Heimerdinger and bronze Talon
Disconnected Fiora and tilted afk splitpushing Senna
Angry jungle Trundle who would spend several seconds afk at camps to type angrily at the team, and Teemo
I must just be playing at suboptimal times or something
e: ended up getting demoted in a game where we were matchmade with an autofilled bronze 4 support who spent the game asking why he was put in this match. Really nice person, just didn't belong in that game. Bizarre algorithm.
They put various gay pride flags into league--in the shop right now for one blue essence a piece you can get the fluft of poro icons that make different flags show up behind your character as they run out of base. Low key and cute.

But the Volibear rework looks fucking awesome. From the gameplay elements to the visuals they really put a lot of work into it, and I love it.
